
Pangbourne, UK, 25 March 2025: Castrol, one of the world’s leading lubricant brands, has launched its all-new Castrol Cyltech 70f, 100f, and 140f product range to cater to the changing slow-speed two-stroke engines market.
Castrol Cyltech 70f, 100f, and 140f are part of its updated marine diesel engine cylinder lubricant range, blended using high-quality base oil and specially selected additive technology. These lubricants are designed to minimise deposit formation on pistons, piston rings and cylinder liners – potentially reducing operational impacts from wear. Additionally, the refreshed Castrol Cyltech range provides good thermal and oxidative stability.
Castrol Cyltech 70f is formulated to support engine performance at higher temperatures and pressures in modern engines. It is designed to clean and protect engines. Castrol Cyltech 100f and Castrol Cyltech 140f are formulated with high-quality additives and base oils and developed to protect against corrosive wear and are designed to protect against corrosive wear in modern fuel-efficient engines1 .
The Castrol Cyltech range has undergone over 75,000 hours of field testing to achieve approvals from MAN ES, WinGD and JEC. Castrol Cyltech 70f and 100f have received approval from major manufacturers of crosshead engines, including MAN ES, WinGD and JEC. Castrol Cyltech 140f approvals are expected by the end of 2025.

The new Castrol Cyltech range will be available from March 2025, starting in specific regions with 70f and 100f. Castrol Cyltech 140f will be available soon after the completion of the approvals. The new Cyltech range will be supported by the Castrol team with hands-on support, and expert technical services.
