Chengdu, 7 April 2025. The 11th Chengdu International Trade Fair for Automotive Parts and Aftermarket Services (CAPAS) will take place from 22 to 24 May 2025 at the Chengdu Century City New International Exhibition and Convention Center. Spanning across 50,000 sqm of exhibition space, the fair is set to host over 720 exhibitors to highlight key advancements in Southwest China’s automotive industry, focusing on new energy and connectivity. With a line-up of unique activities and more than 20 fringe events centred around technological innovation and AI, CAPAS aims to foster the transformation and sustainable growth of the regional automotive market by providing a platform for business exchange, trade investment and the incorporation of industry and education.
As one of the six major automotive manufacturing bases in China, the Sichuan-Chongqing region demonstrates its industrial strength in vehicle manufacturing and battery technology. In 2024, Sichuan and Chongqing produced 3.43 million vehicles, including 1.087 million new energy vehicles[1]. With rapid economic growth and untapped consumer potential in Southwest China, CAPAS 2025 is set to attract a record number of brands to feature solutions for new energy and connectivity, as well as parts and components, electric commercial vehicles, accessories and customising, and more. Through a comprehensive range of innovations showcases and fringe events, the show is poised to support exhibitors in information exchange and business expansion across domestic and overseas markets.
Technological innovations in new energy and connectivity
This year, CAPAS will showcase cutting-edge advancements in new energy vehicles and connected mobility, spotlighting breakthroughs in three-electric systems, core components, autonomous driving, and connected technologies. Leading brands such as Feng Chuan Powertrain, GRESGYING, Kaiyi Auto and Sichuan New Energy Vehicle Innovation Center will unveil new products to address the increasing demand for a more sustainable and intelligent automotive market in Southwest China. For instance, Zhi Li Wu Lian will present lithium battery solutions featuring cloud control and lifecycle data management to enhance safety and efficiency. Aierfu will display R-EPS/C-EPS precision steering systems for autonomous cars.
Furthermore, traditional component manufacturers are adapting to embrace technological transformation. SDS will debut at the show with the electronic disconnect differential (EDD) that saves energy, and reduces noise and vibration. Wonder Halla will present its latest flat copper wire motor to improve performance with a one-way clutch pulley. Additionally, renowned brands like Eastern Turbocharge, Faret, Honeywell, Ironstamp, New SORL, Phoenix, Ruili, Ruiming, Sumax, XKE, and Yihong will leverage CAPAS’s platform to show advanced technologies, expand business collaboration and increase market presence.
New energy commercial vehicles foster green logistics
Sichuan, as a logistics hub in China, is experiencing significant growth in the new energy commercial vehicle market. It is thanks to the demand for green logistics and transportation, as well as subsidies and the development of charging infrastructure. Together, these factors are driving the Southwest market’s transformation towards sustainable transportation solutions, already reflected in heavy-duty truck sales ranking second in the country during the first five months of 2024[2].
This year, over 50 percent of exhibitors are expected to reveal products relevant to commercial vehicles, ranging from vehicle manufacturing, components and aftermarket services. Brands like BELT, Dongjia New Energy, Easyland, Geely, Hyundai Commercial Vehicle, Shudu Bus, Yibin Yirui, and SINOTRUK will spotlight advancements in the electrification of commercial vehicles, featuring electric heavy-duty trucks, intercity light trucks for cold chain logistics, and aftermarket services, aiming to foster green development within the sector.
Amongst these, Geely will present Farizon, an electric light truck catering to short distance logistics. Hyundai Commercial Vehicle will introduce hydrogen fuel cell light trucks with long range batteries and high loading capacities, promising a low-carbon and cost-efficient fleet. Easyland will launch a high-flow parallel air compressor, equipped with high-speed motors, air bearings and compressors to enhance performance of hydrogen fuel cells.
A unique automotive culture in the Southwest region
The distinct landscape of the Southwest region is fostering vibrant automotive culture, including off-roading and racing, which is boosting market demand for customisation and cultural experiences. A revamped Car Customising Festival will return to CAPAS, incorporating off-roading, racing simulations, and anime-inspired customising. The event will feature customised displays, gaming, sharing sessions, racing products from the movie Pegasus, and immersive activities at the Tianfu International Circuit. From this perspective, CAPAS is set to offer a unique participation for car enthusiasts.
Elsewhere, the accessories market is shifting towards eco-friendly and health-conscious upgrades in light of growing environmental awareness. At the Accessories & Customising zone, brands like Biaobang, Botny, Goodyear, and Veslee will introduce low-carbon car care and car wash products, while Aerospace, Sanyou, MOTJ, WANSHUN and more will display customised premium films for car wrapping.
Diverse fringe events focusing on innovation and AI technology
Amidst the development of new energy and connectivity, the aftermarket is setting higher requirements on innovative services, digital expertise and high-skilled talent. In this regard, CAPAS 2025 will host a wide array of activities revolving around technological innovation and AI applications, helping companies to stay ahead of industry trends and strengthen competitiveness. For example, the Southwest Automotive Aftermarket Development Conference 2025 will converge industry experts, brands, distributors, and repair workshops to delve into key topics like AI diagnostics and regional market trends.
CAPAS will promote the integration of industry and education through the New Energy Vehicle Industry-Education Integration Zone. The zone will feature events like the International Automotive Industry Education and Talent Development Conference, hands-on training, new energy vehicle repair workshops, and recruitment sessions. Collaborating with government bodies, experts, companies and education institutions, it will enhance workforce skills and address talent shortages.
Additionally, the Commercial Vehicle Aftermarket (Southwest) Development Conference 2025 will feature the electrification of commercial vehicles for cost efficiency in logistics. The China Automotive Industry Supply Chain International Cooperation Conference 2025 will address supply chain security, competitiveness, and sustainability, which includes sub-events like the China New Energy Vehicle International Cooperation Conference, China Automotive Global Expansion Conference, and the Sichuan-Chongqing Automotive Supply Chain Investment Introduction Session.
