Seatrade Cruise Global – A Spectacular Week

For me there is always one date on the calendar circled in red – the week of Seatrade Cruise Global. It’s an unforgettable time, with thousands of leaders and experts gathered to showcase the best our industry has to offer.

This year, across the many sessions of the Seatrade Conference, Expo theatres, at every side event, and throughout the hall, all the talk was about the twin drivers of digitalization and decarbonization that are transforming the sector.

As DNV’s Global Cruise Segment Director, it was exciting to be part of many of these conversations as the cruise industry navigates these unfamiliar waters. Together with the DNV experts on deck at our booth, we spoke with partners and customers finding new solutions, exploring the regulations shaping the future, and plotting a path to a safer and more sustainable future.

We also recognized two of the giants of the industry who have been sharing their insights in Maritime Impact, our online magazine. Norwegian Cruise Lines shared how collaboration with DNV has helped drive operational excellence and enhance fleet performance.

Meanwhile, Carnival Corporation talked about their approach to setting high standards in crew safety, wellness and engagement.

Trialing alternative fuels is an area where the cruise industry has long been one of the leaders. And MEPC 83 – put net zero or near zero (ZNZ) fuels back in the headlines. Our experts discussed the implication of the new regulations in a recent webinar. View the webinar.

ZNZ fuels are going to come at a premium, which makes saving fuel all the more important. Our new energy efficiency report sets out and assesses the measures that can make a real difference – download the free report.

If you haven’t had a chance to read these thought provoking features, head to Maritime Impact. And make sure to sign up to get these and more great industry stories direct.
