16th June, Bristol, UKGeoquip Marine (Geoquip), a global leader in offshore geotechnical solutions and a Njord Partners portfolio company, announces the extension of the charter agreement with Myklebusthaug for the Dina Polaris. Under the agreement, the vessel will remain part of Geoquip’s operational fleet through to 2030.

Recognised as one of the world’s largest and most capable geotechnical drilling vessels, the 98.9-metre-long Dina Polaris is purpose-built for research in some of the harshest weather conditions. Equipped with Geoquip Marine’s GMTR120 twin tower deepwater geotechnical drilling rig, she is engineered for drilling, coring, sampling and testing across all soil types at depths down to 2,500 metres.

The Dina Polaris will remain as a flagship in Geoquip Marine’s fleet, reaffirming the company’s recognition in delivering safe and accurate data for global offshore energy projects. With an onboard Geoquip Marine soil laboratory, Geoquip’s geotechnical engineers can conduct soil classification and determine strength parameters for design, analysis and assessments in real time for clients whilst offshore.

Hans Hanse, Geoquip’s Head of Technical and Business Development, said: “This extension is a testament to the strength of our eight-year partnership with Myklebusthaug and the trust we’ve built with our clients through safely and consistently delivering high-quality data. As the offshore energy industry rises to meet the challenges of the global energy transition, we’re proud that vessels like the Dina Polaris are helping our clients make confident, informed decisions, no matter where in the world they operate. With our varied fleet, we have the agility to offer tailored, high-value solutions that adapt to any offshore challenge. In all seas, we deliver.”

Roald Myklebusthaug, Chartering Manager, Myklebusthaug Management, said: “The Dina Polaris has consistently proven herself as a robust, capable, and reliable vessel in geotechnical operations across the globe.
