Maritime UK National Awards Sees Unprecedented Success

The Solent’s maritime brilliance stole the spotlight at this year’s Maritime UK Awards (26 June 2025), as Solent businesses swept five of the eleven categories – an extraordinary achievement that showcases the region’s world-class excellence. 

The 2025 Maritime UK winners from the Solent are: 

  • Carisbrooke Shipping Ltd – Business of the Year Award  
  • Carnival UK (P&O Cruises & Cunard) – Diversity and Inclusion Award 
  • Griffon Marine Ltd – International Trade Award 
  • Anchoright – Start-Up of the Year Award 
  • Millie Barnes, ABP – Rising Star 

Anne-Marie Mountifield, Chair of Maritime Solent, said: “Congratulations to all the winners and finalists from our region for such an incredibly strong showing on the national stage, demonstrating how the Solent’s reputation as a world-leading maritime cluster goes from strength to strength.  This national recognition, with Solent-based organisations winning awards across multiple categories, was a sensational success for our region and firmly cements the Solent’s position as a global powerhouse in maritime.” 

Solent businesses shone brightly among the finalists, securing multiple nominations across seven diverse categories showcasing the region’s maritime strength. 

Aside from the winners from the region, the finalists from the Solent also included: 

  • Carisbrooke Shipping Ltd – Technology & Innovation Award 
  • Associated British Ports – Diversity and Inclusion Award 
  • Sunseeker International Ltd – Future Skills Award 
  • Robosys Automation – International Trade Award 
  • Chartwell Marine Ltd – SME of the Year Award 
  • XB44 in the Start-Up of the Year Award
