Suez Canal – Blue Valley
Blue Valley – A new international maritime innovation city – on Sinai – to the benefit of ALL
The Blue Valley initiative is launched to assist the entire maritime industry and its stakeholders to better meet (and take advantage of) the increased fast and complex global changes.
Blue Valley is a new city, a global lighthouse and a cross-global power center for ‘Blue’ Innovation, Development and Collaboration, being built on Sinai (at the heart of the Arab/Mena region, at the banks of the Suez Canal, within the Suez Canal Economic Zone) to the benefit the Maritime Industry, the Suez Canal project, Egypt, the Arab League & MENA region, and beyond (the globe).
The initiative, which is now reality, was conceived by Dr. Monsef, co-founder of WMU and the Arab Academy of Science, Technology and Maritime Transport (AASTMT) and Mrs. Helle Gleie, CEO of ITOLEAD Consulting (also partner of the Maritime Consultancy House (MariconHouse)) in March 2015.
Being truly international Blue Valley is owned and controlled by no-one, and by all – and the collaboration construction ensures that it stays this way.
The project is today being practically managed by Helle Gleie, actively supported by AASTMT at its president Dr. Ismail Abdel Ghafar.
The project is also supported by The Arab Federation of Chamber of Shipping and other individual, national, regional and global players, and the first important financial support (sponsorship) is secured.
Blue Valley is today also enjoying a constructive and positive dialogue with some of the worlds most respected, powerful and innovative academia/universities.
As the maritime industry is truly global[1] and highly complex, the word ‘maritime’ embraces oceans, vessels, ports, logistics, infrastructure, energy (incl. oil, gas, wind and renewable), cargo owners, regulators and maritime authorities, financers, entrepreneurs, maritime bodies, academia and much more.
Linking also sustainability (social, economic, ecological and political dimensions of sustainable development) to the meaning of ‘maritime’ then innovation within the maritime industry matters – to all.
Academia, Private Stakeholders and Political/Public stakeholders & organisations are all invited to participate whilst following only a few simple and positive collaboration rules – where the first 10 major stakeholders are invited by invitation only (being 5 of the most respected universities representing USA, Asia, Africa, Europe, Arab world, followed by 5 of the strongest and most innovative private stakeholders).
Once these ‘first 10’ have taken their seat and the Blue Valley secretariat is secured on Sinai (opposite Ismailia) the construction phase has been completed, and the doors are opened to all.
But, to ensure maximum development speed, everyone is already now more than welcome to
– indicate their interest
– to support the initiative financially (sponsorship linked to the construction phase)
