Repairs rescheduled
Repairs to the New Big South Lock at Brunsbuttel have been postponed by one day. The work is now scheduled from 13 to 15 Ferbuary.
The repair schedule for the New Bigh North Lock Chamber remains unchanged.

Terminal declares Force Majeure
Qua Iboe Terminal has declared a Force Majeure with effect from 7 February 2013, due to a shortfall in production as a result of a well shutdown for maintenance.
There is currently no indication of how last the Force Majeure will be in place.

Marine Site Investigation in Tuen Mun Typhoon Shelter
From 18 February 2013 and for approximately 6 weeks, marine site investigation works involving drilling of boreholes will be carried out [in Tuen Mun Typhoon Shelter] in the area bounded by straight lines joining thefollowing co-ordinates (WGS 84 Datum) from (A) to (F):
(A) 22 deg. 22.663’N / 113 deg. 58.123’E
(B) 22 deg. 22.875’N / 113 deg. 58.579’E
(C) 22 deg. 22.773’N / 113 deg. 58.638’E
(D) 22 deg. 22.604’N / 113 deg. 58.532’E
(E) 22 deg. 22.520’N / 113 deg. 58.548’E
(F) 22 deg. 22.395’N / 113 deg. 58.277’E
The works will be carried out by two flat top barges. One tug and one motor boat will provide assistance.
A working area of approximately 30 metres will be established around each barge. Yellow marker buoys fitted with yellow flashing lights will be laid to mark the positions of the anchors extending from the barges.
The hours of work will be from 0700 to 1900 hours. No work will be carried out on Sundays and public holidays. Vessels employed for the works will stay in the works area outside the hours of work.
Vessels engaged in the operations will display signals as prescribed in international and local regulations.
Vessels navigating in the vicinity should proceed with caution.

Rail strike over, minimal impact on coal stockpiles
The 48-hour strike by National Pacific train drivers which finished yesterday (10 February) appears to have had only a minimal impact on the coal loading terminals.
The stockpiles at Newcastle are reduced due to the fact that 600, 000MT of coal not having been delivered due to the tw-dat strike.
Although there is currently no indication of further industrial action, the dispute has not been settled and there is the risk of further strikes.
