INEC@IMDEX Asia 2017, the foremost professional conference in the naval engineer’s calendar, will see attendees have the unique opportunity to visit the Republic of Singapore Navy’s latest Littoral Mission Vessel (LMV).
In support of the conference theme of ‘Robust Designs, Flexible Capabilities’, the LMV visit scheduled for Wednesday 17th May, will provide conference delegates with an exclusive look at the latest class of ships, which tap on technologies, innovative engineering and logistics design to enable smarter operations, mission flexibility and resource efficiencies in support.
ME7 Keith Lim, Head Operational Logistics Group for the Republic of Singapore Navy commented:
“Rather than have it as an afterthought, we re-imagined supportability to do more with less by deliberately considering key aspects of it in design upfront. We couldn’t think of a better setting than on our latest LMV to present such considerations and technology implementation in reality. With the third edition of the conference set to welcome key leadership from across the naval and marine industry, having a platform to discuss leading ideas in conjunction with this technology showcase will benefit all attendees in re-imagining the possibilities.”
Supported by the Republic of Singapore Navy and Defence Science & Technology Agency (DSTA), INEC@IMDEX Asia 2017 will address the multiplying effect of technology and well-considered designs to enable flexible platforms, and effective support solutions in addressing strategic security and safety issues, and present the latest technologies on naval platform design and developments through industry technical workshops.
David Kelly, Director of Asia Pacific for the Institute of Marine Engineering, Science and Technology (IMarEST) added: “It is a brilliant opportunity for INEC@IMDEX Asia conference delegates to see the various technologies used on the RSN’s latest Littoral Mission Vessel and we are very appreciative for the RSN’s support and providing this unique technology showcase.”
Held from 17-18 May 2017 at IMDEX Asia in Singapore, representatives from navies, commercial and military ship operators, designers and shipbuilders, manufacturers, defence-related organisations and academia, will gather for this exceptional opportunity to gain insight into future technologies and developments. The programme will also be accredited for Continuing Professional Development (CPD). IMarEST members are eligible to get 10% off conference fees.
