The west lane outage at Gatun Locks for April 7-8, 2017, announced in Advisory to Shipping No. A-10-2017, has been rescheduled as follows: Beginning at 1800 hours on Saturday, April 8, 2017, until 0600 hours on Sunday, April 9, 2017 (12 hours), the WEST lane of Gatun Locks will be out of service in order to perform scheduled repairs on Miter Gate 32 and on Vehicular Bridge No. 4. As a result, and in accordance with the rules governing the Transit Reservation System (OP’s Notice to Shipping No. N-7-2017), Condition 1.a for the Panamax locks will be in effect on Sunday, April 9, 2017. Applications for reserved transits while Condition 1.a is in effect will be received beginning at 0900 hours on Thursday, April 6, 2017. The Just-In-Time (JIT) transit slots, as well as the booking slot available through the Auction Process, and the slots available for regular vessels less than 300 feet in LOA, will continue to be offered during this period. | The latest weather warnings have been issued by Bureau of Meteorology (BOM). A gale warning has been issued for most of the East Coast, including the Illawarra, as well as warnings for heavy rainfall and flash flooding, especially on the coastal fringe North of Sydney. The below links give forecasts and warnings: http://www.bom.gov.au/nsw/ http://www.bom.gov.au/ http://www.bom.gov.au/nsw/ For vessels that are in the port of Port Kembla, Masters are to ensure all adequate precautions have been made for securing their vessels for the weather conditions expected. This may include, but not limited to, extra lines, anchors ready for letting go, ramp positing for PCC’s and requiring tugs on standby at the discretion of the Master, and without waiting for instruction from the Port Kembla VTIC or Harbour Master. The Port Authority reserve the right to order tugs to be on standby for vessels that remain in the port for the purposes of port and navigational safety, the costs of which will be shared equally amongst the vessels alongside in the port at the time. All vessels were ordered to clear the anchorage yesterday afternoon and vessels will be told to remain more than 12NM from the Coast until further notice. This includes vessels that are at anchor in the Northern Illawarra but not destined for Port Kembla. | Repairs to dolphins in Typhoon Shelter |

| For approximately 4 months, fender and concrete repairing works for fourteen dolphins will be carried out in the Shau Kei Wan Typhoon Shelter.
The works will be carried out by a crane boat. A working area of approximately 15 metres around the boat will be established. Yellow marker buoys fitted with yellow flashing lights will be laid to mark the positions of the anchors extending from the boat. The hours of work will be from 0700 to 1900 hours. No works will be carried out on Sundays and public holidays. The boat employed for the works will not stay in the works area outside the hours of work. Diving operations will be carried out from time to time during the hours of work. The boat engaged in the works will display signals as prescribed in international and local regulations. Vessels navigating in the vicinity should proceed with caution and keep clear of the working area at slow speed, bearing in mind there are divers working in the area.
