| The Water Safety Day will be conducted from 0800 hours to 1300 hours on 1 May 2017 (Monday) at Repulse Bay and South Bay. The event will include a parade of 6 vessels, a rescue show with helicopter winching demonstration and a 3000-metre swimming session with about 3,000 participants.
The event will take place at Repulse Bay and South Bay with the seaward boundaries delineated by straight lines joining the following positions: Masters, coxswains and person-in-charge of vessels navigating in the vicinity should proceed with caution and keep well clear of the above area. | Coast Guard Chief warns of possible mines in navigational channel |

| The Yemeni Coast Guard is urging shipping to steer clear of the navigational channel to the east of the Red Sea Yemeni island of Zuqar.
This follows the announcement on Friday (14 April) by the Yemen Coast Guard Chief, Major General Khalid Al-Ghommaly, that there is information that rebels had placed a number of naval mines in the vicinity, hence the warning to avoid the area until the mines can be cleared. | A change has been announced to the charging structure for vessel and cargo dues at the port of Ras Tanura.
Though initially planned for January 2017, following negotiations with the port authority, the new structure and applicable fees will be implemented on 1 May 2017. As a result of the change, from 1 May, a new fee of SAR 1.00 will be applied and charged on all oil, gas and liquid oil products. This change will be reflected on all Proforma Disbursement Accounts sent for port calls from 1 May onwards. Due to the high value, all such fees will need to be remitted ahead of the vessel’s arrival at Ras Tanura. In the meantime, up to and including 30 April, the existing charge of SAR 0.57 will continue to be charged on GRT for all vessels.
