Hot Port News from GAC

According to the Maritime and Port Authority of Singapore’s Port Marine Notice No.63 of 2017 dated 18 April 2017, the works will be conducted 24 hours daily – including Sundays & Public Holidays – within the working area bounded by the following coordinates (WGS 84 Datum):
1) 1 deg. 17.633’N / 103 deg. 40.391’E
2) 1 deg. 17.552’N / 103 deg. 40.463’E
3) 1 deg. 17.534’N / 103 deg. 40.444’E
4) 1 deg. 17.615’N / 103 deg. 40.371’E

Dredging works will be carried out by dredger, supported by hopper barges and tug boats. The dredger will be held in position by spuds-systems within the working area.

The safety zone is a circular area of 50m radius centred at the dredger.

Safety boats will be deployed to warn other craft in the vicinity of the working area.

Craft involved in the works will exhibit the appropriate local and international day and night signals.

When in the vicinity of the working area, mariners are reminded to:
a) Keep well clear of the working area;
b) Maintain a proper lookout;
c) Proceed at a safe speed and to navigate with caution;
d) Maintain a listening watch on VHF Channel 22 (Jurong Control);
and
e) Communicate with Jurong Control on VHF Channel 22 for assistance, if required.

According to the Maritime and Port Authority of Singapore’s Port Marine Notice No.60 of 2017, the installation works are being conducted between 0800 and 1800 hours local time today (19 April) and tomorrow (20 April) within the working area bounded by the following coordinates (WGS 84 Datum):
1) 01 deg. 12.317’N / 103 deg. 51.024’E
2) 01 deg. 12.317’N / 103 deg. 51.045’E
3) 01 deg. 12.301’N / 103 deg. 51.045’E
4) 01 deg. 12.301’N / 103 deg. 51.024’E

The installation of underwater measuring instrument on the seabed will be carried out by a work boat. The instrument will be retrieved after 6 months of data collection on site. Safety boats will be deployed in the vicinity to warn other craft during the installation work.

Craft involved in the works will exhibit the appropriate local and international day and night signals.

When in the vicinity of the working area, mariners are reminded to:
a) Keep well clear of the working area;
b) Maintain a proper lookout;
c) Proceed at a safe speed and to navigate with caution;
d) Maintain a listening watch on VHF Channel 68 (West Control);
and
e) Communicate with West Control on VHF Channel 68 for assistance, if required.

According to the Maritime and Port Authority of Singapore’s Port Marine Notice No.65 of 2017, the testing will be conducted 0900 to 1800 hours, weekdays only, within the working areas bounded by the following co-ordinates (WGS 84 Datum):
1) 01 deg. 13.133’N / 103 deg. 51.137’E
2) 01 deg. 12.960’N / 103 deg. 51.229’E
3) 01 deg. 12.925’N / 103 deg. 51.137’E

The experiment and collection of data will be carried out by an AUV (Autonomous Underwater Vehicle) within the working area. The AUV will be launched and operated from a work boat during the experiments. A safety boat will be deployed in the vicinity to warn other craft about the work.

Craft involved in the work will exhibit the appropriate local and international day and night signals.

When in the vicinity of the working area, mariners are reminded to:
a) Keep well clear of the working area;
b) Maintain a proper lookout;
c) Proceed at a safe speed and to navigate with caution;
d) Maintain a listening watch on VHF Channel 12 (East Control);
and
e) Communicate with East Control on VHF Channel 12 for assistance, if required.
