Capers …“correct” the Market…

The BDI (Baltic Dry Index) gained, thanks to the Capers’ surge seven points and now at 1,001 makes all wonder what next; Geopolitics too interesting…. John Faraclas’ daily recap:

The Capers  surge was 91 plus points and the BCI 2014 ended the day at 1,571 bringing-in some more wondering…

The Panamaxes lost 14 points with the BPI now reading 1,009 – very close to the 1,000 point threshold… CAUTION…

The Supras’s BSI  lost a dozen points with the BSI standing at 799 and

The Handies’ BHSI was down six at 517 creating a bit of a uncertainty.

As we have numerous times said given the rise of the Capers and the fall of all the rest: one size doesn’t constitute a market.

Many transcations, transcations of any kind are in the process but some look more than strange and we have  a question for all: what’s up with DHT and Frontline‘s offer? What’s the catch?

The Wets  once again with mixed feelings; the last published BDTI (Dirties) and BCTI (Cleans) stood at  774 – plus six and 566 – minus four respectively.

The WTI as these lines are written stood at US$ 46.50 and that’s good enough for the masses…

The Geopolitics become more than interesting:

The MIGRANTS still on top…

The enigmatic situation in Syria and Iraq with the ISIS et al there makes it even more worse for any peace deal for the foreseeable future.

Emmanuel Macron won comfortably the second round of the presidential elections in France with 66 centum but with Marine Le Pen having behind her 11 mio voters… Opppssss!!! Let’s see if his youth asset can create the much needed in France and in the EU momentum, as if he fails, it looks the EU will collapse… The entire EU celebrates Macron’s election, but we shall soon see his capabilities…

BREXIT will be Macron’s graveyard; meantime Mrs. May’s popularity is more than strong and it seems there is no opponent… in the forthcoming elections in exactly a month’s time…

Turkey’s behaviour for its people within and outside is enigmatic; meantime Turkey MUST stop pestering its neighbours and mainly Greece…

Greece lives in interesting times too; hard luck for the Greek people who must oust all 300 MP’s to make a clean start… In the shipping sector we are concerned for the continuation of the attempt to destroy the Ministry of Shipping, an orchestrated and premeditated act… Leave the Ministry as it is and don’t spoil the Hellenic Coast Guard!!!

Antonis Georgiadis’ “The Basilica Cistern / Yerebatan Sarnici” 542 A.D, ink on paper

Venezuela continues to be in a very messy situation and CAUTION is the least we can say.

South Korea elections for president is crucial given the economical and North Korea’s issues…

On another tone another great evening tonight at London’s Hellenic Centre Friends Room with the much awaited exhibition on Constantinople. This was the third of its kind , following the first two in Athens’ Genesis Gallery and Kavala’s Mohamed Ali’s House by wolrd acclaimed painter Andreas Georgiadis!

Georgiadis produced a unique account with an equally unique technotropy! A walk through space and time narrating seventeen centuries history in detail of the City of Cities… and it’s not just the emotional portrait of the City, its beyond that.

The painter third from the left, with Alexis Georgiades – Press Attache at the Greek Embassy, curator Iris Kritikou and friends

Good to see so many people tonight, particularly on a Monday with the Greek shipping fraternity in full force. Former and current diplomats, former and current Press Attaches including,  from the Greek Embassy  including George Hatziioanou and members also of the Greek-Cypriot community; maro Limnios was there too with Lena Zemelidou, the exhibition’s curator Iris Kritikou was present too…

The former Greek Ambassador to the United Kingdom Dimitris Gounaris with his wife and Gerry Vagliano

That’s all more or less for today and wish you all, all over Planet Ocean, a nice and peaceful evening; remind you as always to be on guard from every eventuality from Pirates and Terrorists…
