The BDI is losing steam, no comments on this; we have warned you!

The BDI (Baltic Dry Index) closed earlier on today at 994  points, that’s minus 20 since last Friday’s the 12th of May closing sending a multiple of messages around. The Geopolitical aspects are a cause of major concern; John Faraclas’ daily briefing:

The Capers …lead the fall with the BCI 2014 losing 64 points and now stands at 1,661 ; CAUTION

The Panamaxes’ BPI lost 14 and now reads 978 points – ultra CAUTION!

The Supras’ BSI down two at 782 – a continuous fall here too…

The Handies’ BHSI losses were minimal, just one point and the respective index now reads 508…

All in all the Dry Market managed to go within a week under the 1,000 point mark. Wonder what’s next…

The Wets followed suit with the last published BDTI (Dirties) and BCTI (Cleans) at 741 – minus one and 540 – minus five respectively.

The WTI gained nearly two dollars and as these lines are written it stands at US$ 49,17 – caution…

The Container trade although we hear and read it’s getting better, still maintains the dire straits syndrome…

The Geopolitical situation worsens and wonder how president Trump can deal with so many regions facing war; can he deliver simultaneously to over ten major regions’ mess?

On top still the MIGRANTS, then the unending Wars in Syria and Iraq.

Turkey still ignores that the coin has two sides and with 141 violations of  Greece’s airspace today and another  violation also by missile boats in Greece’s territorial waters, the drums of war might be heard soon. NATO must intervene before there are regrets. ULTRA CAUTION

Greece  itself in dire straits, CAUTION, as the populist politicians cannot deliver. The EU and hte IMF must become pragmatic or else….

France – Macron calls for European reconstruction… his first stop was Merkel’s Germany. He appoints Edouard Phillipe as prime minister – let’s see the forthcoming election and his team…

BREXIT …on the move and the forthcoming election looks more than easy for Mrs. May!

President Trump still worries on the FBI fall-out; let’s watch the end result.

North Korea did it again with yet another missile test – it will be a disaster if China and others don’t intervene; president Trump might go to any length to ensure North Korea learns its lesson well…

China tries for the new Silk Road of the 21st century… In our view, with all due respect,  a very out-of-date project!

The cyber attack last Friday it is not just a WannaCry issue; it is more than that and same should be tackled appropriately. we have an interesting report worth studying from HFW; click here to read same.

That’s all more or less, have a nice evening and be on guard from any eventuality from Pirates and Terrorists looming in the background…
