The BDI (Baltic Dry Index) closed earlier on at 1,250 points – that’s 35 points plus since yesterday… The Wets with more than mixed feeling following the …departure of Hurricane Harvey, and Irma’s passage right now… The Geopolitical spectrum, couldn’t be worse… John Faraclas’ daily recap:
The as ever volatile Capers managed a good triple digit plus points – 125 and now the BCI reads 2,438!
The Panamaxes on an upwards mode; the BPI gained 39 points and now reads 1,314! The two major sizes rich picking couldn’t continue with the Supras and the Handies; plus five for the BSI now at 868 points and a low plus three points for the BHSI now at 494 points.
So, despite the smiles all these plus points are very premature and not so sustainable as we have seen all these ups five times before over the last six months… CAUTION!
The Wets with very real mixed feelings; the last published BDTI (Dirties) and BCTI (Cleans) stood at 698 – plus seven and 624 – minus 50 respectively… The Harvey effect is over…Let’s see if any changes after Irma…
The WTI’s temperature on the rise; at US$ 49.14 approaches the forbidden level of US$ 50… Caution!
The Geopolitical sector will produce as we expect major changes and be braced of what will happen! All major “ingredients” leading to many clashes are here to stay: The MIGRANTS, The Wars in Syria and Iraq against ISIS and the rest of nearly a dozen groups continues until the very end when the inhumane politicians and the sick military continue in a wrong way.
Turkey and Greece: pretty much the same situation… Let’s see what will be the result of France’s president Macron visit over the next two days in Athens…
