The BDI (Baltic Dry Index) ended up 17 points plus since yesterday and 101 since last Friday the 27th of July 2018 – from 1,672. Geopolitics more than crucial. John Faraclas daily and weekly recap:
The Capes both on a daily and weekly basis did well; the BCI gained 98 points earlier today and now stands at 3,632 points. On a weekly basis the BCI was up 435 points – from 3,197…
The Panamaxes BPI was now 44 points and now reads 1,447 points. It lost 141 points since last Friday when it stood 1,588 points annoying many owners as the level doesn’t correlates with the money same earns which is almost, more or less the same as in March 2018!! What’s up there…
The Supras’ BSI loss was minimal – down two points with the respective index reading 1,030. On a weekly basis the supas lost just five points – contained loss from 1,035…
Losses for the Handies’ BHSI; down one on a daily basis standing at 543 points which is ten points down since last week’s 553 points.
Once again the Capes dominate the Dry Market but this doesn’t constitute a Market nor a healthy / sustainable one!
The Wets with mixed feelings; the last published BDTI (Dirties) and BCTI (Cleans) stood at 756 – down four and 490 – minus two points respectively. On a weekly basis the Dirties gained one point – from 755 and the Cleans lost 18 – from 508.
The WTI at US$ 68.40floats still in a very dangerous zone which greatly affects the 90 centum of the World’s masses! CAUTION. Last Friday same stood at US$ 69.40, exactly a dollar higher.
The Geopolitics coupled with the Trade Wars and Sanctions is about to produce a terrible mess. Be prepared for everything. Everything is possible, everything can happen!
A new development from the Wildfires in Attica, Greece is that of the resignation of alternate minister of Citizen’s Protection Nikos Toskas and one further death was recorded bringing the death toll to 93… Still ten people are missing and nearly 200 were injured.
Greeks from all over are delivering food and clothes and any support you can imagine. The last thing Greece …needed was this Wildfire on Monday the 23rd of July, a disaster though waiting to happen… Shame! We need to see all the perpetrators be appropriately punished! We need, and we repeat our demand for all 300 MPs in the Greek Parliament to resign here and now. No excuses please! Justice must shine or else…

P.S. Mind the Mighty new heatwave in the UK, London in particular as well as in many European counties! The forecast tell us for temps in the region of 47C in Portugal and neighbouring Spain… Sweden, Switzerland, Belgium will be affected. Many Zoos are affected and toxic algae have been observed in both sides of the Baltic Sea and the authorities advise the public to avoid swimming in Poland, Lithuania and Sweden…
