“In and Out of bounds” / “Within and Outside limits”
Much has been written about the social and cultural atmosphere of May ’68, a commingling of ideas and claims, which seemed to unite the young in a common vision. It initiated a fundamental questioning of “thousands of years of dust, hate and misery”, as Manos Hadjidakis wrote.
The festival’s theme is ‘May of 1968. Fifty years later…’ (Mai 1968. Cinquante ans après…), hence ‘In and Out of Bounds / Within and Outside limits’… ��The Beatles, Simon&Garfunkel, Aretha Franklin, Barbra Streizand, Manos Hadjidakis, and Mikis Theodorakis are only some of the composers who ever inspire Eleni Voudouraki, a crossover mezzo-soprano, to interpret and feel the pulse of an era through her own ‘aesthetic’ filters. Markos Kotsias is accompanying on the piano.
This music event is taking place in the framework of the ‘Petit Paris d’ Athènes’ festival at Aggelon Vima, foyer, 36 Satovriandou St. – Omonia, on Sunday, 7th October 2018, at 21:30.
