Increase in statutory & miscellaneous charges FY 2019/20

On 1 July 2019, the Port Authority of New South Wales will introduce a general price increase of 3.68%, comprised of 1.68% (based on the Australian Bureau of Statistics CPI December 2018, Sydney result) plus an additional 2% to all statutory and miscellaneous charges in the Port of Eden.
The full Schedule of Port Charges will also be published on the Port Authority website from 17 June 2019.

Pilotage suspended due to extreme weather

New South Wales’ Port Authority has suspended all pilotage movements at Port Botany and Sydney Harbour from 13.20 hours local time today (4 June) and will monitor all movements until first light tomorrow, 5 June.

Shipping movements suspended

Port Kembla Port Authority has advised that due to prevailing weather conditions being outside the port’s environmental parameters, shipping movements were suspended at 02.23 hours local time today (4 June).
The anchorage was closed to shipping yesterday and remains so until further notice. All ships are to remain minimum 12 nautical miles offshore.

Relocation of light buoy & virtual aids to navigation in Urmston Road

From 5 June 2019, the light buoy “CP11” and the Automatic Identification System (AIS) virtual aids to navigation “CPV1” in Urmston Road will be relocated with their characteristics remain unchanged.
The new positions of the light buoy and the virtual aids to navigation are as follows:
– Buoy Type Co-ordinates (WGS 84 Datum)
– CP11 Starboard hand buoy 22 deg. 26.157’N / 113 deg. 53.233’E
– CPV1 Starboard hand virtual buoy 22 deg. 25.740’N / 113 deg. 53.325’E
Masters of vessels navigating in the vicinity are advised that the virtual aids to navigation established above is transmitted by a land based AIS station and is not physically in existence. The virtual aids to navigation can only be seen and displayed on navigational equipment, such as Electronic Chart Display and Information System (ECDIS) and Radar, connected with an appropriate AIS device. Vessels without AIS or in the absence of ECDIS or Radar overlay will not be able to fully utilize the virtual aids to navigation.

Relocation of Cristobal Small Craft Anchorage

Due to changes in the infrastructure in the area of the basin of the Port of Cristobal, the Panama Canal Authority (ACP) has relocated the Cristobal Small Craft Anchorage (Area F) to the west of the Area B of the Inner Anchorage.
The new Small Craft Anchorage is located south of the west breakwater, to the west of the Canal channel and of Area B of the Inner Anchorage. The anchorage has a minimum depth of 26 feet MLW and is bounded as follows:
Starting at a point marked by Lighted Buoy F1, in position 9 deg. 22 ́16”N., 79 deg. 56 ́36”W., thence 164 meters (179 yards) 090 deg. true to a point marked by Lighted Buoy F2, in position 9 deg. 22 ́16”N., 79 deg. 56 ́31”W., thence 1192 meters (1304 yards) 180 deg. true to a point marked by Lighted Buoy H, in position 9 deg. 21 ́37”N., 79 deg. 56 ́31”W., thence 34 meters (37 yards) 076 deg. true to a point in position 9 deg. 21 ́37”N., 79 deg. 56 ́30”W., thence 1795 meters (1963 yards) 180 deg. true trough a point marked by Lighted Buoy F3, to a point marked by Lighted Buoy F4 at position 9 deg. 20 ́39”N., 79 deg. 56 ́30”W., thence 200 meters (219 yards) 270 deg. true to a point marked by Lighted Buoy F5, in position 9 deg. 20 ́39”N., 79 deg. 56 ́37”W., thence 2978 meters (3257 yards) 000 deg. true through a point marked by Lighted Buoy F6 to starting point.
