RG Connect19 Conference Highlights & RG YEP Events Announced

Thank you to everyone who attended our 6th annual conference ‘RG Connect19: Greece Open for Business‘, which took place in London last Saturday. It was an amazing day – fifty-five international speakers participated, over 250 people attended, over 700 people watched via the live stream and it was great to see how the event brought together key players of the entrepreneurial ecosystem to make a positive impact.

RG Connect19 Highlights Greece Open for Business – Policymakers and government representatives discussed the changes Greece is implementing to become more open for business and investment. After the session, Mr Gregoris Dimitriadis, Secretary General for International Economic Affairs, said “It is important to pass on the message that ‘Greece is Open for Business’ and it is important for us to learn what entrepreneurs need. RG Connect is an excellent forum to network and help startups scale up.”  Watch the live stream video here and hear about the conference highlights in our blog. Inspiring Entrepreneurial Stories – Lord Karan Bilimoria CBE DL, Founder of Cobra Beer, shared his inspiring entrepreneurial journey and his path to building a global brand against all odds. Konstantinos Konstantinopoulos, CEO of Coffee Island shared his company’s journey and the steps Coffee Island is taking to become more sustainable in the ‘Scaling in Retail Business’ session. Click here to watch all of the live stream session videos. How Funds Source Deals – International venture capitalists Bruno Bolsens, Partner at Big Pi, Andreas Stavropoulos, Partner at Threshold and Neha Tanna, Principal at Joyance Partners, shared their experiences and perspectives on how startups can best meet the criteria of a top VC. Inspiring Discussions & Sharing Expertise – Liana Gouta, Group Director at HELPE and Philippa Michali, CEO of Allianz Greece, shared their insights on achieving success in a competitive business environment in the Diversity and Inclusion session and Michael Joacobides, Sir Donald Gordon Chair of Entrepreneurship and Innovation at London Business School, chaired the 5G: Evolution or Revolution panel discussion with Fotis Karonis, 5G Executive Lead at BT and Ioannis Konstantinidis, Chief Strategy at OTE. Click here to watch all of the live stream session videos. RG Connect19 Startup Award – Ten young startups pitched to a panel of investors, who awarded 2MoRo Mobility the top ward. The innovative startup, who are on a mission to modernise the way we move by leveraging our online footprint, won free office space at TMRW in London. 2MoRo’s Co-Founder, George Cambanis, said “This award helps us achieve another step towards realising our goal. We are very excited about the connections we were able to establish at Reload Greece.” Hear more in our blog.
