BDI@1,328; the fall continues amid perplexed Geopolitics and Coronavirus surge

Not an encouraging fall, although contained without any triple-digits… Geopolitics becoming more than perplexed confirming our views and position of exploitation and inhumane attitudes by the warmongers and their cronies: the politicians and business hooligans. Coronavirus becomes a lesson to many every single day given the awful turning and surge of this pandemic. John Faraclas’ daily recap:

With minus 21 points since yesterday BDI (Baltic Dry Index) at 1,328 it remains an enigma for were same is heading…

The Capes’ BCI lost 26 points and now stands at 1,916 – very close in losing the 1,900 points threshold; CAUTION!

The Panamaxes’ BPI was down 35 and now reads 1,414 points – also very close in losing the 1,400 points threshold…

Single digit losses for the Supras’ BSI now at 941 – minus eight!

A single point lost from the Handies’ BHSI now at 567…

An all in Red Dry Market at a time and period when logically the Markets “resume” on the positive, I mean upwards trading…

The Wets pretty much the same with the usual mixed feeling… The last published BDTI (Dirties) and BCTI (Cleans) stood at 446 – plus two and 465 – minus 18 points respectively…

The WTI stood at US$ 36.73 which is US$ 2.33 below yesterday’s US$ 39.06 figure. Good news but WTI has on some occasions o be surprisingly odd and volatile…

The Geopolitical spectrum is beyond even our own categorisation / expectation of being enigmatically perplexed, given as mentioned in the preamble above a situation governed by the warmongers and their cronies… SHAME!

MIGRANTS still the number one issue which will bother us for the foreseeable future unless politicians come down to their senses… Expect mess, expect escalation of this inhumane issue… time will tell.

The faulty line between Gib and Afghanistan and from the Caucuses down the Horn of Africa with its ten hot spots – and more to come if hostilities begin in the Aegean and East Med…

For a start Turkey has gone – with the support of its backers, beyond any red line one can imagine; and this is only the beginning in Erdogan’s and Islamists’ effort to change the frontiers in the wider region: Balkans, Central, East Med, and Middle East, even up to Afghanistan. Add some hiding energy “lords” and see what you get… The EU and NATO must realise, unless they both have other designs for the region, that one day things might get sour for them given the Russian-Turkish factor looming in the background. Greece should stand to the circumstances and find the way, not just to alert its partners in the EU and NATO and others, but to make them come forward with actions and not just mild statements. In these respect, to secure and be successful in this coming Armageddon – and avoid same, Greece needs to use the services AND good offices of its top negotiators; these are its Shipping people and in particular its international and world acclaimed Shipbrokers; end of the story! We respect all those politicians and diplomats being involved, but since 1948 when the Dodecanese Islands where incorporated / united to Greece  – as a winner of the Second World War, they have spectacularly failed to make Greece’s rights been fully respected firstly by its allies and secondary by Turkey whose appetite to re-create / re-establish the Ottoman Empire – the Sick Man of Europe has no limits and frontiers. The time has come to demolish Turkey and this should be the task of the German presidency of the EU. Otherwise Turks and Germans flock together. Equally NATO should expel Turkey. The Turks and in particular under Erdogan in these last the decades have proven that they are not reliable NATO members nor they have any luck with their inhumane behaviour in becoming EU members. Be on guard for Erdogan might provoke Greece and Cyprus as well as Egypt into war… Let’s see if France comes all the way along to Greece to stop Turkish aggression and let us “hope” both the EU and NATO come down to their senses before they come down to their knees… Can the United Kingdom contribute to Peace in the region? And what about the USA? Can Sergei Viktorovich Lavrov and his Russians help? And what about the Chinese with Shipping and Commercial vested interests in the region – COSCO might face logistic problems if the Suez Canal closes and a conflagration spreads in both Central and East Med. Both its Greek and Turkish terminals will face major issues…

Egypt has issues too in the Med as well as with Ethiopia and  to a lesser extent with Sudan, for the damn Dam… the Grand Renaissance Dam in the Blue Nile, a matter for survival for all Egyptian people!!! CAUTION.

Israel too has many issues; Hamas, Iran, Palestine, Syria and only a grand coalition with Greece can change the situation there. Turks wish to destroy Israel too and look forward in the future to liberate the al-Aqsa in Jerusalem… as we have seen the recent cases of Aghia Sophia and the Chora famous Christian churches turning them to mosques…

Not many news coming out from Syria and its Kurds being suppressed by the Turks with the USA and Russia keeping a blind eye…

CAUTION for Lebanon too following the Beirut despicable massacre last month– it was on all counts a massacre. Hope our mentioning immy after this mess there that the IMO keeps in force the ISPS code is heard and materialised.

BREXIT moves to a messy plateau; expect hell with Europe. Downing Street might put forward other designs… Watch this space!

Belarus will become a thorny issue between East and West; this division and issue still exists…

At the other side of the Atlantic a war of words is waging between the Republicans and Democrats as the time is nearing out for the battle of who occupies the Oval Office in the White House.  A very interesting confrontation. Mind Racism’s issues all over the USA which as we have seen spread in other countries – Canada, UK to name but a few… with statues coming down… CAUTION! CAUTION also as the Superpower MUST look after Planet Ocean’s affairs which are getting worse…

In Central and South Latin America things are getting worse; Venezuela with its Iranian “partnerships” raises eyebrows in Capitol Hill; Argentina struggles financially whilst Brazil enters a difficult period with more fires raging in the Amazon…

In the Far East and in particular down in the South China Sea and Hong Kong things are getting sour and the USA won’t back off… Add the latest stand-off between China and India and see what to get.

Awaiting who will take over in Japan replacing legend PM Abe!

In Africa messy situations continue but one must also see the South African Economy shrinking 51 centum. In tandem with corruption, like in most African states, this is a serious blow for Africa’s most industrialised nation…

In Australia now with Chinese accusing the Aussies for raiding Chinese journalists’ offices… it will be a very interesting story.

Tourism and for us Maritime Tourism suffers the most… Air Travel too… Bankruptcies on record are the highest ever recorded… Add new protocols and lockdowns as well as cancellations of many tourist destinations due to the fact that same are “eligible” for quarantine…

The Coronavirus anathema, until medicines and vaccines are available and successful, will inflict more damage to all Planet Ocean’s population with incalculable repercussions to the economy too. Lack of Discipline and Leadership will make us regret we are governed by second class politicians and given the fact we come from a ten year Recession and already we have entered another one, the World debt is now US$ 280 trillion – up US$ 20 trillion from the known US$ 260 trillion…

The holy icon of Panagia Armata(The Virgin Mary)

On another tone and note in Spetses Island off the Saronic Gulf , the Armata Anniversary was “modestly” displayed given the Coronavirus’ prohibitions.

Well done under the circumstances but the message is repeated for winning over the Ottoman fleet during the Greek War of Independence on the 8th of September 1822 during the sea-battle!

Long live Spetses, Long live Greece!

A timely reminder to all given also today’s circumstances – particularly a tense month  with the Turks provoking  Hellenism yet again!

Have a nice evening  ensuring you continue to remain on guard from actions emanating from Pirates, Terrorists, Criminals and any Business Hooligans whatsoever wherever you are on Planet Ocean.  Once again a big THANK YOU to all who really care for all humans – Doctors, Nurses, Seafarers, Dockers, Port Authorities et al during this Coronavirus disaster!! We repeat: Do please invest in Hospitals including Equipment, Doctors, Nurses and any useful means to avoid further disasters! Become more disciplined and care for the Environment too. Lastly: Education and Training for all to be able to tackle these disasters. Let’s work collectively together and NOT opt for a fistful of Dollars to restart the already collapsed global economy… which is in red US$ 280 (twohundredandeighty) trillion…
