Dr Ravi K Mehrotra led Foresight Group appoints Mr. Alok Jha as its Global Head of Drilling Business.
23rd December 2020 – London – Foresight Group, founded by London-based visionary Dr. Ravi K Mehrotra, CBE, inducts industry veteran Mr Alok Jha to spearhead the Group’s Drilling Business. Mr Jha will steer the Group’s efforts in building best-in-class operations with highest safety and efficiency standards besides developing sustainable and strategic relationships to drive business growth.
Foresight Group, established in 1984 by Dr. Ravi K Mehrotra, is a global conglomerate which has a fleet of offshore rigs, land rig and Crude Tankers. The Group is also making an interesting foray into Ports & Gas sector on the back of its proposed port project at Bhavnagar in India.

Mr. Alok Jha is a Mechanical Engineer from globally acclaimed IIT Kanpur (Indian Institute of Technology) with accreditation in Petroleum Technology from French Institute of Petroleum – Pau and brings with him a rich & varied experience in drilling operations spanning 31 years and 18 countries. Prior to joining Foresight, Alok was associated with global giants like Transocean and Seadrill. In his last assignment as Director of Operations (Seadrill Americas), he was operating out of Houston, USA. At Foresight Group, Alok will be based out of Abu Dhabi, UAE where the group has set up its global Drilling Business.
The group has also promoted the current head of Drilling Business, Mr Milind Orpe, a Graduate Marine Engineer, who has been with the group for over 13 years, as a Director in its leadership board at its Dubai office. Mr Milind Orpe has played a key role in successfully driving the Drilling Division’s robust operational performance over the years. In his new role, Milind will focus on growth & expansion strategies for the Group and will be spearheading the M&A activities that the Group plans to pursue in the coming years
