Statement of the UGS Board of Directors for the resignation of Mr. Panagiotis Laskaridis

The Board of Directors of the Union of Greek Shipowners (UGS), in its complete composition, unanimously accepted the resignation of Mr. Panagiotis Laskaridis from the UGS Board of Directors as well as from the UGS in general, wholly rejecting his unfounded and provocative allegations. The Board also expressed its deep disappointment and disapproval of the fact that Mr. Laskaridis refuses to admit that his resignation was obviously the result of the unprecedented situation he himself caused, with the statements that he made and which came to light.
In addition, the UGS Board of Directors fully applauded the handling of this unfortunate issue by the UGS President and the Bureau, reiterating their full support and undivided loyalty to both, and concluding that the UGS remains united in continuing its work, always close to the State and the society.
