Marine construction works off Marine Barrage
The working period has been extended for marine construction works being
carried out off Marine Barrage. The work will now be conducted from 26 July
2013 to 25 January 2014.
According to the Maritime and Port Authority of Singapore’s Port Marine
Notice No.98 of 2013, the works will be conducted 24 hours daily –
including Sundays & Public Holidays – within the working areas bounded by
the following
coordinates (WGS 84 Datum):
A) 01 deg. 16.781’N / 103 deg. 52.303’E
B) 01 deg. 16.863’N / 103 deg. 52.414’E
C) 01 deg. 16.788’N / 103 deg. 52.469’E
D) 01 deg. 16.680’N / 103 deg. 52.322’E
E) 01 deg. 16.887’N / 103 deg. 52.447’E
F) 01 deg. 16.900’N / 103 deg. 52.464’E
G) 01 deg. 16.843’N / 103 deg. 52.544’E
H) 01 deg. 16.830’N / 103 deg. 52.527’E
The marine construction works will entail removal of the existing
revetment, removal of debris, piling works and the construction of a
cofferdam by work barges and soil investigation works by jack-up barge.
The work barge will be held in position by four point anchoring system.
There will be a circular safety working zone of 50-metre radius centered at
the jack-up barge.
Tugboats will be used for shifting the barges within the working area. The
shifting operations will be restricted to daylight hours only. A safety
boat will be in attendance throughout the duration of the operations.
Craft involved in the works will exhibit the appropriate local and
international day and night signals.
When in the vicinity of the working areas, mariners are reminded to:
(a) keep clear and not to enter the working areas;
(b) maintain a proper lookout;
(c) proceed at a safe speed & navigate with caution;
(d) maintain a listening watch on VHF Channel 12;
and
(e) communicate with East Control on VHF Channel 12 for assistance, if
required.

since 1 July 2013.

Temporary draft restriction
The Harbour Master at Santos yesterday (23 July) imposed maximum draft
restrictions on incoming/outgoing vessels, due to adverse weather.
Until conditions improve, vessels with a draft of more than 10.00 meters
are not permitted.
