With the summer season due to start in the Mediterranean soon, many crew will be looking for work – some of them green crew who have little or no previous experience of yachting, and who are potentially vulnerable to a host of risks as they take their first steps into the industry.
In order to ensure that all crew have the knowledge and tools they need to make informed, aware, boundaried and safe decisions about their next role, we encourage you to share ISWAN’s resource, Personal safety precautions for job-seeking yacht crew, with your networks. This resource provides guidance to support crew throughout the process of finding work and joining a yacht, including how to find reputable agencies, get information about employment rights, identify scams and red flags, and set personal and professional boundaries.
