The president of the Chios Nautical Club, Captain Antonis Pitsilos , from Vrontados, Chios, is at the helm of the show “KALES THALASSES” on VOICE OF GREECE.
He talks about his relationship and love for the sea and shipping, emphasizing that ” If I were born again, I would be a seafarer again. I love the sea and shipping very much, while the young people who are starting this profession now should know that it is difficult, but it has a lot to offer them and a bright future as long as they love it. I first embarked in 1981 on the M/V MOUNT PARNASS loaded with iron from Philadelphia, USA, to Japan and disembarked after 18 months in England. The first embarkation and life on ships in general is unforgettable.”
As for the Chios Marine Club , which has happily celebrated 25 years of existence and serves shipping with love and enthusiasm, Captain Antonis states that: “Since the first day of our foundation, the Club has been a meeting point for people in the shipping industry, a place for dialogue, cooperation, solidarity and contribution, with a common denominator the love for the sea and respect for the history of Chios.”
