Accelerating Nuclear for Energy Generation and Shipping – register now

As global energy systems face mounting pressure from rising demand, geopolitical uncertainty, and the rapid electrification of industry, the need for reliable, secure, and scalable power has never been greater. Nuclear energy is increasingly recognised as a cornerstone solution, capable of delivering continuous, large-scale power while strengthening national and industrial energy resilience.
Against this backdrop, Accelerating Nuclear for Energy Generation and Shippingwill bring together senior leaders from the energy and maritime sectors to explore how nuclear technologies can underpin the next era of industrial growth and global transport. The event will serve as a high-level platform for collaboration across industries that are central to the future of energy security.
A key focus of the summit will be the role of ship-based nuclear technologies, including their multi-use potential across shipping, industrial and commercial applications. As the shipping industry navigates increasing pressure to enhance efficiency, resilience, and long-term competitiveness, civil nuclear propulsion presents a transformative opportunity. The event will also examine how ports are evolving into strategic energy hubs, integrating power generation, infrastructure, and logistics within broader energy systems.
Attendees will gain critical insights into the development of nuclear-powered commercial vessels, regulatory pathways for deployment at sea, and the financing models required to support large-scale infrastructure investment. The agenda will also address the broader ecosystem needed to enable a growing nuclear economy, from shipyards and fuel supply chains to grid integration and industrial clusters.
By convening utilities, shipowners, ports, reactor developers, policymakers, investors, and regulators, the summit is designed to foster meaningful dialogue and practical collaboration. The goal is clear: to accelerate the deployment of secure, dependable energy solutions that strengthen energy independence, enhance system reliability, and support long-term economic stability.
At a time when energy security has become a defining global priority, this event offers a timely opportunity to engage with the stakeholders shaping the future of nuclear innovation in both energy generation and maritime transport.

Regulatory shifts accelerate maritime nuclear deployment

The 2026 NRC Regulatory Information Conference (RIC) brought together regulators, industry, and policy stakeholders at a time of growing focus on advanced nuclear deployment. Across discussions, there was a clear shift toward implementation, with increasing emphasis on licensing, delivery, and the practical steps required to move projects forward.
Within that context, maritime nuclear emerged as a consistent area of interest, particularly in relation to floating power generation and nuclear propulsion. For CORE POWER, the conference followed a series of pre-licensing engagements with NRC Commissioners and technical staff. Together, these developments point to a more defined regulatory pathway for maritime nuclear, signalling a transition from concept toward deployment.
