Bulk Carrier “COMMON CALYPSO”

In January 2026, the Bulk Carrier “COMMON CALYPSO” (GT 32,987 – DWT 57,000), laden with Brazilian soyabeans, experienced main engine problem and was drifting 10 nm E of Salomon Islands, Indian Ocean, while en route from Santos, Brazil, to Chittagong, Bangladesh. On 10 January, Tsavliris mobilised the S/T “Boka Alpine” (BP 200 – BHP 16,300) and on 14 January the towage to Hambantota Port, Sri Lanka commenced. During the voyage, the tow connection had to be replaced due to damage caused by yawing. On 26 January the convoy arrived safely at her destination and the operation was completed successfully.

Drillship “DISCOVERER INDIA”

On 23 January 2026, Tsavliris assisted the Drillship “DISCOVERER INDIA” (GT 65,790 – DWT 63,583) to exit the Platygiali Port, Astakos, Greece, using three of its Patras-based tugs “PROTEAS”, “APOLLON” and “HERMES”. The tugs delivered the “DISCOVERER INDIA” safely to the AHT “Fram Prince” for onward towage.

Bulk Carrier “BLUERAY”

In January 2026, Tsavliris arranged for the AHTS “Logindo Sturdy” (BP 150 – BHP 8,000) to undertake the towage of the Bulk Carrier “BLUERAY” (GT 33,044 – DWT 56,451), in ballast condition, from Pulau Laut Anchorage, Indonesia, to Banten Shipyard, Indonesia. The convoy arrived at destination on 6 February 2026.

Bulk Carrier “KEEPER”

On 12 March 2026, the Bulk Carrier “KEEPER” (GT 88,955 – DWT 174,674), in laden condition, experienced loss of electrical power, at 126 miles NE of Trincomalee, Sri Lanka, while en route from South Africa to India.

On 12 March, Tsavliris mobilised the AHT “Boka Expedition” (BP 200 – BHP 16,000) from Colombo Anchorage, Sri Lanka arriving at the casualty’s position on 15 March when towage commenced to Trincomalee. The convoy arrived safely at destination on 19 March and the AHT “Boka Expedition” was released while the AHT “Advantis Libra” (BP 97 – BHP 7,400) took over to provide standby services.

16th Annual Capital Link Greek Shipping Forum

The successful 16th Annual Capital Link Greek Shipping Forum was held in Athens on Thursday 5 February 2026. The event was organised in cooperation with DNV, Nasdaq and NYSE. Tsavliris Salvage supported the event with a sponsorship. The “2026 Capital Link Greek Shipping Leadership Award” was presented to Mr. Pantelis Eleftherios (Lou) Kollakis, Chairman – Chartworld Group of Companies, for his outstanding contribution to Greek & global shipping. Introductory remarks were made by Mr. George A. Tsavliris, Principal – Tsavliris Salvage Group and Mr. Adam Polemis, President – New Shipping Limited.

Additionally, Mr George Tsavliris, CYMEPA President, was the Conference Chairman of the 9th Annual Capital Link Cyprus Shipping Forum organised on 17 February 2026, at the Columbia Plaza in Limassol, Cyprus. The Forum took place under the Auspices of the Shipping Deputy Ministry of Cyprus and the Shipping Deputy Minister to the President and in cooperation with the Cyprus Union of Shipowners. The event was also supported by the Cyprus Shipping Chamber, CYMEPA and other major stakeholders of the Cyprus maritime cluster.

Maritime Exhibition “The Sea Unites”

The exhibition “The Sea Unites – The Greek Shipping and the German Economic Miracle” opened its gates on 4 Ferbuary 2026 at the Athens War Museum by H.E. the President of the Hellenic Republic, Mr. Constantine An. Tassoulas.The exhibition highlights an important aspect of post-war European history: the cooperation between Greek shipowners and German shipyards that contributed to the reconstruction of the two economies after World War II. A pioneer of this cooperation was Aristotle Onassis, who ordered newbuildings at German shipyards, becoming an important catalyst for the so-called “German Economic Miracle.” Over a period of fifty years, more than 160 ships were built for Greek shipowners at West German shipyards. The exhibition was co-organised by the non-profit organisasion NAVIRA and the International Maritime Museum Hamburg.
