
On Wednesday, 06 May 2026, in connection with the Blue MBA Module 4 in Hamburg, Gerald Hirt, Managing Director, HVCC Hamburg Vessel Coordination Center, Blue MBA Graduate, Class of 2009, organized an excellent meeting at Hamburger Hafen und Logistik AG (HHLA) headquarters, a leading European logistics company that functions as a smart network, specialized in port operations and container transport across Europe.
The group was welcomed by Gerald, who, together with Evelin Tarro, Port Systems and Process Coordinator at HHLA International GmbH, Blue MBA Graduate, Class of 2025 and Johannes Berg, Director Corporate Affairs HHLA. The three gave brief presentations on HHLA, HHLA international activities and the coordinating role of HVCC.
The meeting was followed by a tour of the HHLA Container Terminal Altenwerder which offered the members of the 2027 Blue MBA Cohort, an exclusive insight into the level of terminal automation and digitization, showcasing efficient and sustainable container handling.
The visit was indeed the highlight of our week in Hamburg and the members of the Blue MBA, Class of 2027, highly appreciated the meeting and the terminal tour which they found very inspiring.
