Alternative marine fuels have become increasingly important, as a response to stricter environmental regulations on emissions, driving technological advancements and improving the industry’s sustainability practices. To help support ship owners and operators navigate the complexity of the future fuels landscape, we have launched a new report on Liquefied Petroleum Gas (LPG) in the Fuel for thought series on alternative fuels for shipping.
This report, produced in collaboration with the World Liquid Gas Association (WLGA), sets out how LPG can support the maritime sector’s transition to lower carbon propulsion with immediate, scalable impact.
We invite you to download the report, which identifies the main drivers for the adoption of LPG as a fuel including regulations, lifecycle analysis, ship operator demand and interest including techno-economic drivers.
Production, safety and supply issues are also discussed in conjunction with fuel price, volume projections and engine technology.
