Sete 2014 888x258 bannerLONDON – September 24 2014: The widely reputed ‘specialist efficiency’ event for the
maritime industry ‘Ship Efficiency: The Event’ boldly promises to deliver an agenda for the
4th annual event that will catalyse an even greater volume of insight, debates and  examination of the core topic of ship efficiency than ever before.

The event, taking place at Queen Elizabeth II Conference Centre, London on 1-2 October
2014 in association with Inmarsat, will provide delegates with the opportunity to engage
in interactive panel discussions and workshops hosted by high profile experts from
across the international industry. The event will also host a parallel exhibition of over 28
maritime technology providers.

Catherine Austin, Director, Fathom commented “In 2013, Ship Efficiency: The Event
attracted more delegates, speakers and exhibitors than ever before. During those two
days we welcomed 443 registered attendees, representing 225 organisations, 44 ship
owners, 40 speakers and 32 exhibitors. It was a truly international crowd with attendees
coming from 23 different countries. This year, the event will definitely see an even
greater volume of participants involved across an array of platforms”.

Building on the success of previous years, Ship Efficiency: The Event 2014 will see a host
of industry experts from a far-reaching range of organisations take the podium, including
Inmarsat Maritime, BIMCO, ABS, UK Chamber of Shipping, ClassNK, Lloyds Register and
HSH Nordbank. The agenda is also littered with representatives from the ship owning
and operating community, therefore delegates can expect to hear insight from companies
including Hapag Lloyd, Torm A/S, Ardmore Shipping and Wallenius Wilhelmsen Logistics.
The event features an exclusive IMO session chaired by Lars Robert Pedersen of BIMCO
that will feature Arsenio Dominguez, Chairman MEPC, Katy Ware, Permanent
Representative of the UK to IMO at the Maritime & Coastguard Agency and Jesper
Loldrup, Head, Policy and Planning Unit IMO. Under discussion will be the IMO’s
perspective on the future challenges and opportunities which face the maritime industry.

New for 2014, the event plays host to the inaugural Ship Efficiency Awards. The Ship
Efficiency Awards, hosted by Lloyds Register, were launched by Fathom to recognise and
celebrate organisations and individuals within the maritime industry that have excelled
in efficient operations, implemented fresh thinking, offered proven efficiency benefits
and advanced technological innovation. The finalists have now been selected and the
winners will be announced at an exclusive afternoon reception on 2nd October.
