Lars Odeskaug presenting his slides supported paper

At a full house at ABS’ Auditorium earlier tonight RINA’s London Branch organised a rare presentation on advanced shipbuilding within the sphere of oil gas and LNG exploration.

The slides presentation was delivered by Lars Odeskaug, Chief Operating Officer at Sevan Marine in Norway. The speaker focused on the characteristics as well as the behaviour of a cylindrical hull compared to a traditional ship-shape hull or semi-submersible unit. He gave us details from the units that have been in operation from 2007, both as FPSOs and for drilling and he addressed the application of the cylindrical arctic conditions.

Ten interesting questions stimulated a great debate ranging from “how do you dock her” to the “patents issue” and “segregations…”

We will revert soon with a more detailed account on the event; watch this space!

Hello,

Could I kindly request if this could be updated with the presentation that took place. I’m doing a research project related to this and I’m quite interested to know about the event.

Kind regards,
Akash
