Dead ship tow
May 06, 2015, United States, Mobile, Alabama

There will be a dead ship tow of the STELLA BELINDA (751 feet length overall and 106 feet wide) at Mobile commencing at approximately 0600 on Friday, May 8, 2015.

The bulk carrier will be towed from the Mobile Sea Buoy to the Bulk Material Handling Plant by the tug ISABELLE with assist tugs provided by Crescent and Seabulk Towing. The contact person for the operation for Resolve Marine is Mr. Matt Hahne and can be reached at (954) 650-3188 and for Tradewinds Towing is Mr. Ryan Babcock at (504) 264-4230.

The ISABELLE and the STELLA BELINDA will have bar pilots onboard for the entire operation and will be standing by on VHF/FM channels 13 and 16.

The transit will be made in daylight hours and should take 8 to 10 hours necessitating one way traffic for that time.

Port State Control inspections
May 06, 2015, United Arab Emirates, Abu Dhabi

Effective today (6 May), the Petroleum Ports Authority of ADNOC [Abu Dhabi National Oil Company] shall be enforcing Port State Control inspection on vessels visiting the Petroleum Ports in Jebel Dhanna, Ruwais and Das Zirku Petroleum Ports, in accordance with the RIYADH Memorandum of Understanding.

Inspections shall be effected on those foreign flag vessels which are due for PSC inspection and shall be undertaken by Petroleum Port Authority’s inspectors on behalf of the Federal Transport Authority.

Revised channel depth

Following the latest hydrographic survey of the Cairns Channel the depth is now declared at 8.3m LAT.
