Temporary obstruction of the Mobile River

There will be a partial blockage of the Mobile River on or about Friday, May 15, 2015 from approximately 0600 until 1300 in the vicinity of the Upper Bay Turning Basin to submerge a dredge pipeline.
The pipeline will have risers at the south end of the Pinto Island Terminal and the south end of the APM Terminal.
During the operations, there will be limited passing of vessels in that location.

Dredging in Causeway Bay Typhoon Shelter

For approximately 2 months, marine works involving dredging operations will be carried out [in Causeway Bay Typhoon Shelter] in the area bounded by straight lines joining the following co-ordinates (WGS 84 Datum) from (A) to (H):
(A) 22 deg. 16.989’N / 114 deg. 10.998’E
(B) 22 deg. 17.013’N / 114 deg. 11.012’E
(C) 22 deg. 16.968’N / 114 deg. 11.047’E
(D) 22 deg. 16.946’N / 114 deg. 11.012’E
(E) 22 deg. 16.938’N / 114 deg. 10.992’E
(F) 22 deg. 16.941’N / 114 deg. 10.984’E
(G) 22 deg. 16.943’N / 114 deg. 10.983’E
(H) 22 deg. 16.979’N / 114 deg. 11.012’E
The works will be carried out by one derrick barge. Three tugs will provide assistance.
A working area of approximately 20 metres around the barge will be established. Yellow marker buoys fitted with yellow flashing lights will be laid to mark the positions of the anchors extending from the barge.
A silt curtain, extending from the sea surface to the seabed, will be established within the works area. The silt curtain is a large piece of netting used to contain mud and sediments. Yellow markers fitted with yellow flashing lights will be laid to mark the extent of the silt curtain.
The hours of work will be from 0700 hours to 2300 hours. Vessels employed for the works will stay in the works areas outside the hours of work.
Vessels engaged in the operations will display signals as prescribed in international and local regulations.
Vessels navigating in the vicinity should proceed with caution.
