Suspense is the name of the game both for the shipping markets and geopolitics…

Our twenty-fourth weekly recapitulation of the shipping markets, their respective main indices and world geopolitics affecting same in 2015 and beyond, today Friday the 12^th of June 2015, with John Faraclas of AllAboutShipping in London.

• The BDI, the Baltic Dry Index, was up 13 points since yesterday Thursday the 11^th of June standing at  642 points, which is 32 points up since last week’s 610. The global situation and the financial crisis engulfing the world will continue for yet two more years – minimum… Be on guard with the unexpected geopolitical changes…
• The BCI 2014 was up 10 points since yesterday at 820 points, which is 45 points up since last week’s 865 points; a very questionable size…always volatile – remember this!
• The BPI was up 23 points at 719 points and 123 plus since last week’s  596 points! Our preferred size makes steady and positive waves…
• The BSI up nine points at 678, which is 22 points up since last week’s 656 points. Finally the
• BHSI was up just two points at 338 which is seven points up since last week’s 331 points.-
• An overall “upwards” dry market… We shall see…

The wets now:

• The Dirties and its BDTI index was down two points at 908 which on the other hand is 40 points up since last week’s 868 points.   Approaching the 1, 000 points is now within reach…
• The Cleans and the respective BCTI was down jut one point at 725 and five points up since last week’s 720 points…  
• The price of oil still far beyond from what we all want and what the leaders expected, thanks to geopolitics and sanctions….

As for the Geopolitics, same continue in a total mess, far worse than last week:

• Ukraine – top of the agenda, be prepared for major surprises…
• The Greek suspense continues; dramatists will learn of tragic scenarios and comedians of the new absurd….Did I here you say guillotine? For both sides though…?
• With  a possible BREXIT and GREXIT try say: DEUXIT (from Deutschland) !  It might happen too. Try to see out of the box for a change… This is the big problem: Deutschland ! It will be good for our viewers and beyond to read and study one of the interviews of Jim Davis  Chairman of IMIF (The International Maritime Industries Forum) given  back in April 2013 to John Faraclas and you can understand why…
• The Migrants issue, what an accumulating mess? What a palaver….  
• Elections in Turkey, as per my interview to NOUSE…. well done: Erdogan’s power after 13 years erodes; now it will erode at a faster pace… 
• Did I her you say: Sex and the mountain? (After the… “Sex and the City”) Now, with all due respect, this is a case to answer…:  Should the world’s judiciary come to its senses… It is a must! Equally, Provocateurs and Exhibitionists must be punished, severely too (you dead well know what I mean…).-
• In Africa things will go off the truck: Libya? Kenya?  South Africa…
• Is anybody working on how to destroy the Islamic State? What about a pre-emptive strike in all fronts!
• China: did I hear you say corruption?
• The US – EU forthcoming sanctions  will definitely lead to war, an unending economic war with Russia – even a proxy one can do… Let the Baku games finish and watch this space!
• Talking about the US; Hilary Clinton begins tomorrow her campaign to become Planet Ocean’s undisputable first Mermaid. She deserves this! So she begins from Roosevelt Island in New York where the entire Globe will focus on.

After suggesting Chios and Samos Islands in the Eastern Aegean, the Saronic Gulf ones, starting from Spetsae, Greece’s Belle Époque Island, how about Astypalea and Amorgos; two of Eastern Cyclades best A’s!
