The BDI (Baltic Dry Index) lost eight points earlier on today with all other dry indices in red… Geopolitics more than crucial given the MIGRANTS, BREXIT, Italy et al… John Faraclas’ daily brief:
The Capes’ BCI lost seven and now stand at 1,050 points…
A double digit loss for the Panamaxes’ BPI now at 1,437 minus 16 !!!
Supras and Handies falling too; the BSI lost five and the BHSI just one…now at 964 and 645 respectively…
The Wets still with mixed feelings; the last published BDTI (Dirties) stood at 1,106 – plus seven and BCTI (Cleans) at 646 – minus three..
The WTI as these lines are being written stands at US$ 56.50… As for the “tendency” to go up or down: very enigmatic and geopolitically controlled…
Geopolitics are in turmoil; simply worse than ever before. The situation gets day by day worse in all fronts. See our last Friday’s report and refresh you mind of what to expect…
MIGRANTS retain the lead as the most important and crucial AND perplexed issue with contradictory views from both sides of the Atlantic given the Honduras et al Caravans heading to the USA/Mexican border – in its entirety… For sue it will rain to Southern California… In Europe politicians have made it a total mess succumbing above all to Turkish blackmail – with respect the crossings from the Anatolian coast and Evros River to the Aegean Greek Islands and mainland respectively. At least we are more than proud to feature the unique shots of Margarita Mavromichalis on Lesvos. The best ever moving photographs on hope and despair – between us! Congrats to her touching thoughts and courage, stamina and humane attitude.
BREXIT already shakes not just Europe but Planet Ocean beyond the “at large”…
Italy on a brink to appropriately defend its citizens rights.
Keep an eye in the East Med… and beyond (Balkans etc) as conflagration is in the cards. It’s energy stupid… to paraphrase the well known American “maxim”…
George A. Papandreou spoke at the LSE earlier on; we managed to break the impulse – media-wise but wonder where he dare found the “strength” to speak as Silence and Patience are a failed politician’s virtues…
Tomorrow WISTA-Hellas’ Annual Forum kicks-off in the afternoon at Athens Hilton Hotel’s spacious auditorium with a great agenda – including the environmental concerns in all fronts to be delivered by world acclaimed Hellene speakers… All the very best!
That’s all for tonight, have a nice evening and remain on guard for any eventuality emanating from Pirates, Terrorists and any Criminals whatsoever wherever you are on Planet Ocean!
