DATE: January 31, 2012- COUNTRY: Australia- PORT: Broome Strike announced –
Broome Port Authority has advised that the MUA union has announced a strike at the port from 1800 hours on Friday (3 February) until 0600 hours on Saturday (4 February).
The strike is related to negotiations between the union and the Port Authority about workers’ wages.
Little or no disruption to shipping at the port is anticipated as a result, as interruptions are expected to be minimal.

DATE: January 31, 2012 COUNTRY: Australia PORT: Port Kembla Industrial dispute at coal terminal
Workers at Port Kembla Coal Terminal plan a 7-day strike from 0700 tomorrow (Wednesday, 1 February) until 0800 on 8 February.
The action is related to the industrial dispute related to the workers’ enterprise agreement.
Port Kembla Coal Terminal has also advised of the possibility of further delays due to action by the mine union, CFMEU, as follows:-
– 48 hours duration commencing 0700 on Thursday 9 February until 0659 on Saturday 11 February
– 48 hours duration commencing 0700 on Sunday 12 February until 0659 on Tuesday 14 February
– 12 hours duration commencing 0700 on Wednesday 15 February until 1859 on Wednesday 15 February
– 24 hours duration commencing 0700 on Saturday 18 February until 0659 on Sunday 19 February.
