DATE: June 23, 2012 – COUNTRY: Hong Kong – PORT: Hong Kong – Dragon Boat Races & Club Crew World Championships
The 2012 Hong Kong International Dragon Boat Races (IDBR) and the 8th Club Crew World Championships (CCWC) races will take place off the East Tsim Sha Tsui waterfront from 2 to 8 July 2012 from 0700 hours to 1900 hours.
Mooring buoys marking the southern limit of the race area will be laid approximately 280 metres from the waterfront on 30 June 2012, and two pontoons will be moored to the two landing steps at East Tsim Sha Tsui waterfront. They will remain in place until approximately 9 July 2012. Owners and coxswains of vessels are advised to use other landing steps in the vicinity.
Throughout the events, lighters, ferries and launches will make fast to the mooring buoys to enclose the race area. Other than participating craft, no vessel will be permitted to enter the race area.
Vessels navigating in the vicinity should proceed with caution….
….In the event of inclement weather, the IDBR may be postponed to the fallback date on 15 July 2012 and to be held in Shing Mun River, Sha Tin with the CCWC races to be cancelled if deemed necessary.
