 DATE: November 12, 2012 COUNTRY: United States PORT: Chesapeake, Maryland Draft limitations for C & D Canal

The draft limitations for the C&D [Chesapeake & Delaware] Canal has been set to 31 ft. Vessels transiting the Canal may be asked to time their arrival at Chesapeake City to account for a rise of tide in the shoaled area.
The Safety Broadcast Notice To Mariners//A// BAL BNM 377-12 states that the Army Corps of Engineers has confirmed a report of shoaling in the Uppper Chesapeake Channel, located along the eastern ide of the channel, from Upper Chesapeake Chan LB 36 (LLNR 8630) to a locaiton midway between Upper Chesapeake Chan LB 38 (LLNR 8640) and Upper Chesapeake Chan LB 40 (LLNR 8785). The depth of water is 31 FT at MLLW.

DATE: November 12, 2012 COUNTRY: Australia PORT: Darwin Infrastructure Levy for Offshore Support Vessels

Darwin Port Corporation shall apply an Infrastructure Levy for Offshore Support Vessels berthing at its facilities on and from 1 January 2013.
The Infrastructure Levy will operate as follows: – A fixed charge of $3, 000 plus GST per call; and – A daily charge of $1000 plus GST where the vessel is alongside for more than 24 hours from day two onwards.
The infrastructure levy applies to all Offshore Support Vessels berthing at the Corporation’s facilities, including rig tenders, seismic survey vessels up to 12, 500 tonnes GRT and other vessels involved in supporting offshore oil and gas activities.
