Immingham ports updates
Below are some updates on Immingham ports as of 15 May.
Finger Pier outage:
Fender maintenance will be carried out from 28 May 2013 (Tuesday) 0800hrs
to 29 May 2013 (Wednesday) 1800hrs – 1.5 days.
During the outage, it will not be possible to handle any shipping.
Immingham Gas Jetty (IGJ):
Slop tank clean/internal inspection will be carried out from 21 May 2013
(Tuesday) 0800hrs to 23 May 2013 (Thursday) 1800hrs – 2.5 days.
During the outage, it will not be possible to handle any shipping.

Pasir Panjang Terminal, Phase 3 & 4: Underwater drilling & blasting works

The working area for underwater drilling and blasting works at Pasir
Panjang Terminal, Phase 3 & 4, has been revised and the working period
extended. The work is now being conducted from 16 May to 3 June.
According to the Maritime and Port Authority of Singapore Port Marine
Notice No.63 of 2013, the works are being carried out within the working
area bounded by the following co-ordinates (WGS 84 Datum):
Drilling and Blasting Working Area Sector I
1) 01° 16.543’N / 103° 46.700’E
2) 01° 16.472’N / 103° 46.748’E
3) 01° 16.255’N / 103° 46.777’E
4) 01° 16.365’N / 103° 46.594’E
Drilling will be carried out 24 hours daily, including Sundays. Only one
blasting work will be carried out at any one time within the working area.
Blasting Schedule
Blasting will not be carried out on Sundays . The schedule for blasting
will be carried out as follows:
1. 0800hrs – 0900hrs
2. 1200hrs – 1400hrs
3. 1630hrs – 1830hrs
Underwater drilling and blasting works will be carried out by work barge
“Orion 84” which will be held in position by 4-point anchors.
The following safety procedures and warning signals will be adopted for
each blasting
operation:
(a) All personnel will be evacuated from the danger zone prior to the
blasting operations;
(b) Armed Protection Officers (APOs) in craft/safety boats will cordon off
the working area 30 minutes before the blasting operations;
(c) “Pasir Panjang Control” will issue avigational warning on VHF Ch 25;
(d) Two (2) prolong blasts on the whistle will e sounded 15 minutes before
the blasting, to nsure all divers and ships stay clear from he blasting
area;
(e) Red flags and warning signs “Blasting in progress” will be erected to
warn mariners 5 minutes prior to the blasting operations;
(f) Three (3) short blasts on the whistle will be sounded 5 minutes before
the commencement of the blasting operations;
(g) At the point of blasting, four (4) short blasts will be sounded on the
whistle with blasting initiated on the 4th short blast;
and
(h) One (1) prolonged blast will be sounded on the whistle after the
completion of each blasting operation and red flag lowered.
Craft involved in the works will exhibit the appropriate local and
international day and night signals.
When in the vicinity of the working area, mariners are reminded to:
(a) keep well clear and not to enter the working area;
(b) maintain a proper lookout;
(c) proceed at a safe speed and navigate with caution;
(d) comply with the instructions from Pasir Panjang Control and the APO
craft at the scene;
(e) cease all underwater diving activities within a radius of 144 metres
from the perimeter of the working area during the periods of blasting;
(f) maintain a listening watch on VHF Channel 25;
and
(g) communicate with Pasir Panjang Control on VHF Channel 25 for
assistance, if required.

Dredging Operations in Nim Wan, Deep Bay

According to Government of the HKSAR Marine Department Notice No. 60 of
2013, dated 15 May 2013, dredging operations will be carried out in Nim
Wan, Deep Bay.
With immediate effect and for a period of approximately 5 months, dredging
operations will be carried out within the area bounded by straight lines
joining the following co-ordinates (WGS84 Datum) from (A) to (I) and the
adjacent shoreline:
(A) 22° 25.438’N / 113° 55.764’E
(B) 22° 25.430’N / 113° 55.671’E
(C) 22° 25.506’N / 113° 55.645’E
(D) 22° 25.560’N / 113° 55.816’E
(E) 22° 25.550’N / 113° 55.951’E
(F) 22° 25.605’N / 113° 56.111’E
(G) 22° 25.672’N / 113° 56.084’E
(H) 22° 25.696’N / 113° 56.183’E
(I) 22° 25.599’N / 113° 56.230’E
The works will be carried out by one grab dredger. Two hopper barges and
one tug will assist in the works. The number of vessels engaged in the
works will change from time to time to suit operational requirements.
A working area of approximately 50 metres around the dredger will be
established. Yellow marker buoys fitted with yellow flashing lights will be
laid to mark the positions of the anchors extending from the dredger.
The works will be carried out round the clock.
Vessels engaged in the operations will display signals as prescribed in
international and local regulations.
Vessels navigating in the vicinity should proceed with caution.
