Reclamation of Ayer Chawan Basin, Jurong Island
Reclamation works will be carried out in the vicinity of Ayer Chawan Basin,
Jurong Channel from 15 June to 14 December.
According to the Maritime and Port Authority of Singapore Port Marine
Notice No.77 of 2013, the works will be conducted 24 hours daily –
including Sundays & Public Holidays – within the working area bounded by
the following coordinates (WGS 84 Datum):

The reclamation works will involve removal of existing rocks from the rock
keys along the existing shoreline and stockpiling at designated re-handling
area at Ayer Chawan Basin. Shore protection works will be carried out by
crane barges.
Craft involved in the works will exhibit the appropriate local and
international day and night signals.
When in the vicinity of the working area, mariners are reminded to:
(a) Keep well clear and not to enter the working area;
(b) Maintain a proper lookout;
(c) Proceed at a safe speed and navigate with caution;
(d) Maintain a listening watch on VHF Channel 22 (Jurong Control);
and
(e) Communicate with Jurong Control on VHF hannel 22 for assistance, if
required.

New Port Improvement Rate to be introduced
Port Hedland will introduce a new fee – the Port Improvement Rate (PIR) –
on 1 September 2013.
The PIR is for funding Capital Improvements at the port. At present this
fee is expected to be in place for 5 years subject to consultations for
renewal.
The proposed schedule of rates is as below:
