M/V Atmoda (ARC4) completes the most challenging Northern Sea Route (NSR) transit so far.
M/V Atmoda an ice classed ARC 4 refrigerated vessel , transited the Northern Sea Route (NSR) in ballast from the Far East to the North Atlantic successfully in the most challenging ice condition we have experienced since 2011. It must be noted that ice was present in several areas of the Northern Sea Route (NSR). This was the 1st Northern Sea Route voyage where our m/v Atmoda’s bow was actually ‘wired’ to the stern of the nuclear powered Ice Breaker ‘Vaygach’ during the passage through the Vilkitskiy Strait.

We would like to thank the operators of the Northern Sea Route namely; FSUE ATOMFLOT for their assistance as well as the Northern Sea Route Administration. Eventhough, our crews are well experienced with polar navigation, we would like to thank the Capt. Fedorov, his Officers and Crew for successfully completing this challenging passage.
The above is a Thanks Note issued by Laskaridis Shipping Co. Ltd.
