Claudio Chiste – chairman, thanked the two Board members who stood down, Marina Burima (AET Tankers) and Bridget Sands-Chigbo (Bahamas Maritime Authority). Marina will continue to be involved with business development of the SPNL. At the same time, thanking the Board members who stood for re-election and welcoming the new Board members. SPNL is run by a group of dedicated young professionals in their “spare” time as they all have their day jobs to contend with
The event was co-sponsored by Maples & Calder and the Cayman International Shipping Registry attracting over onehundred devotees of this unique networking shipping group. All fields of the shipping spectrum where duly represented from over 20 different nationalities – at least from those I met and talked with.

The Oyster Shed situated on the river Thames at the end of Angel Lane and the “junction” of Oystergate and Hanseatic Walks with stunning views onto the Shard couldn’t have a rival venue given also the lovely evening to stage this event!
