Submarine Outfall Inspection Works

From 25 October 2013 and for approximately one week, submarine outfall
inspection works will be carried out [off Stonecutters Island] within the
area bounded by straight lines joining the following co-ordinates (WGS 84
Datum) from (A) to (D):-
(A) 22º 19.083’N / 114º 07.603’E
(B) 22º 19.073’N / 114º 07.588’E
(C) 22º 19.105’N / 114º 07.526’E
(D) 22º 19.115’N / 114º 07.542’E

The works will be carried out by a work boat. One guard boat will provide
assistance.

A working area of approximately 25 metres around the work boat will be
established. The hours of work will be from 0800 to 1700 hours. Vessels
engaged in the works will not stay in the works area outside the hours of
work.

Diving operations will be carried out from time to time during the hours of
work.

Vessels engaged in the operations will display ignals as prescribed in
international and local egulations.

Vessels navigating in the vicinity should roceed with caution and keep
clear at slow peed, bearing in mind there are divers working n the area.

Sensor deployment & testing off Pulau Seringat

Sensor deployment and testing works will be carried out off Pulau Seringat
from 3 November to 31 December.

According to the Maritime and Port Authority of Singapore Port Marine
Notice No. 141 of 2013, the works will be conducted 0700 to 1800 hours
daily (excluding Saturdays, Sundays & Public Holidays) within the area
bounded by the following co-ordinates (WGS 84 Datum):
1) 01 deg. 13.696’N / 103 deg. 51.298’E
2) 01 deg. 13.696’N / 103 deg. 51.408’E
3) 01 deg. 13.582’N / 103 deg. 51.408’E
4) 01 deg. 13.582’N / 103 deg. 51.298’E

The daily tests consist of deployment of an underwater vehicle. The daily
testing will be carried out by the work boat “Mata Ikan”.

A safety boat will be deployed in the vicinity to warn other craft of the
project work.

Craft involved in the works will exhibit the appropriate local and
international day and night signals.

When in the vicinity of the working area, mariners are reminded to:
(a) keep well clear and not to enter the working area;
(b) maintain a proper lookout;
(c) proceed at a safe speed & navigate with caution;
(d) maintain a listening watch on VHF channel 12 (East Control);
and
(e) communicate with East Control on VHF 12 for assistance, if required.

Four-day holiday for Republic Day

Due to Turkey’s Republic Day on Tuesday 29 October, all official
institutions and banks in the country will be closed for four days from the
afternoon of Saturday 26 October.

Vessels are urged to make arrangements for crew, spares, provisions, etc.
in advance to ensure timely delivery.

Meanwhile, some ports may be closed from 26 to 29 October and rates for
official services (pilotage, towage, mooring, customs) increased by 50%. To
check, contact GAC Turkey, which will be on duty during the holiday.

Fire at sugar terminal

Six warehouses used to store about 300, 000 tons of sugar at Santos port
were destroyed by a fire which broke out at on Friday morning (18 Ocotber).

It took five hours to bring the blaze under control, but work to prevent
new fires igniting on the site continued until until yesterday (20
Ocotber). Three tugboats were involved in the fire fighting operation.

The Copersucar Terminal was responsible for 25% of sugar exports from the
Santos Port Complex, representing 7, 5% of global exports.

Cargo scheduled to be shipped to Copersucar Terminal was diverted to Rumo
Logistica Terminal located on the berths 16/17 and 19.
