Τhe city of Nafplio in the Peloponnese is the next stop of HELMEPA’s Marine Environment and Sciences Awareness Campaign, which is being implemented across 12 Greek cities with the support of Lloyd’s Register Foundation (LRF)*.
The Municipality of the City of Nafplio has placed all the activities that will be completed as part of the Campaign between 27th November and 10th December, under its auspices.
Campaign activities are set to begin with the Workshop titled “Marine Litter; a problem concerning us all” to be held on Wednesday, 27th November from 5:30pm at the Park Hotel.
At 8pm on the same evening, the Mayor of the City of Nafplio will officially open the “Marine Environment, Shipping and Sciences” Exhibition, which is to be kindly housed in the “Vouleftiko” Building until Tuesday, 10th December.
In cooperation with the Primary and Secondary Educational Directorates of the Prefecture of Argolida, an expected 1, 100 students from schools both in and around the city of Nafplio will visit the Exhibit, with costs covered by the program. The Exhibition will also be open to members of the public on weekdays between 5:30pm and 7:30pm and on weekends between 10am and 1pm and between 5:30pm and 7:30pm.
Other awareness-raising activities that aim to promote environmental education and protection have been scheduled to take place within the context of the Campaign and with the cooperation of the Environmental Education Center of Nea Kios.
