Lock operations update (19:15 hours on 6 Dec)

Operations are resuming at Kiel-Holtenau, allowing vessels to enter the
Kiel Canal from the Baltic Sea.

Traffic flow will be controlled to avoid accumulation inside the Kiel Canal
as only one big lock is in operation at Brunsbüttel.

The Kiel Canal authorities have closed the Brunsbuttel Locks again due to
high water level. Operations are expected to resume when levels improve,
possibly around 21.00 hours.

Lock operations at Brunsbuttel, which had been halted due to high water
levels, resumed at 18.45 hours, removing vessels from the Canal first.

The next high water is at 04.44 hours tomorrow morning, and high water
levels are still expected. Therefore, the next stoppage could be tonight –
a decision will be taken during the night.
