The Centre of Entrepreneurial Development, Alliance and Research (CEDAR) of UClan Cyprus, the Enterprising British University on the Island, in cooperation with www.allaboutshipping.co.uk and with the support of the Hellenic Centre have successfully hosted the workshop focusing on “The Development of Greek Shipping Dynasties: Succession across Generations”.
The event was very well participated attracting more than 40 attendants with some of them being directly involved in the Greek and wider Shipping Community. Presenters to the event have been Prof Panikkos Poutziouris, expert in the strategic development of family businesses, Dr Loukas Glyptis, Lecturer of accounting at UCLan Cyprus, and Mr John Faraclas, Specialist in maritime affairs.

The workshop primarily benefited from the contributions and interventions of distinguished speakers from the Greek Ship-owning family, and in particular, Mr George Mouskas of Zela Shipping Ltd. (President of the Cyprus Union of Ship-owners), Mr Haralambos Fafalios of Fafalios Ltd (President of the Greek Shipping Cooperation Committee) and Mr George A. Tsavliris.

The workshop concluded with a vibrant and constructive open and panel discussion, which was continued in a more relaxed fashion following the end of the workshop.
