The last two weeks have been a very enjoyable time for the team at ITOPF and the partners they have worked with in producing the new series of films on responding to oil spills.  Winning 1st, 2nd and 3rd prize at the Film Festival as part of the International Oil Spill Conference (IOSC) in Savannah was the high point of the formal recognition, but even more rewarding has been the number of organisations at the launch event in London and at IOSC who have said that they are very keen to use the films as part of their own activities in promoting good practice in reducing the impact oil spills at sea.The first three 20 minute films “Introduction to Oil Spills”, “Aerial Surveillance” and “At-Sea Response” are now available online.   They have produced these films with the aim of them being widely available across the global oil spill response community.

The first three films will also be available from the ITOPF App from the end of next week (in slightly lower resolution). The remaining four films (Shoreline Clean-Up; Waste Management; Environmental Impacts; and Oil Spill Compensation) will be available from June after launch events planned in Asia.

The films are not available to download through these routes so they will be releasing the DVD with all 7 Films in the series in the middle of June.  This will include subtitles in Chinese, French, Spanish, Arabic, and Korean. It will be priced at £10 including postage and packaging to cover the costs of providing the DVD.  If you would like to register your interest for the DVD then please click below and they will contact you as soon as they are released.
