HELMEPA is delighted that it will once again be participating at the Posidonia International Shipping Exhibition, to be held between 2 June and 6 June 2014 at the Metropolitan Expo Exhibition Center.
The Association this year celebrates its 32nd birthday and indeed, to mark the Anniversary of its Founding to the day, on Wednesday 4 June, it will host an International Conference on “Energy efficiency measures on existing vessels” and will induct four individuals significant to the history of HELMEPA to the title of Honorary Member during a special ceremony at the conclusion of the works of the Conference. They are (in alphabetical order):
- Mr. Joseph Angelo, Deputy Managing Director INTERTANKO
- Mr. Efthimios Mitropoulos, IMO Secretary-General Emeritus
- Captain Panagiotis Tsakos
- Mr. Nikolaos Tsavliris
The Conference will feature presentations to be delivered by guest speakers invited from member-companies Danaos Shipping Co Ltd and DNV GL, the National Technical University of Athens, the United States Coast Guard and Wärtsilä.
As always, and courtesy of event organizers Posidonia Exhibitions S.A., delegates will be able to visit HELMEPA at its Exhibit Stand Nr. 2.212. Members of HELMEPA’s staff will be available to inform and update visitors on the aims and activities of the Association.
