Reduced draft at berths due to monsoon & siltation

Due to monsoon conditions with siltation in the approach channel and
lagoon, the maximum permissible draft at [New Mangalore’s berths 10, 11, 14
& 15] is reduced to 14 metres, with 1 metre height of tide with immediate
effect.

Dredging work in Temasek Fairway

From today (20 June) until 19 October, dredging works are being carried out
in Temasek Fairway.

According to the Maritime and Port Authority of Singapore Port Marine
Notice No.85 of 2014 dated 19 June 2014, the works are being conducted 24
hours daily – including Sundays & Public Holidays – within the working area
bounded by the following co-ordinates (WGS 84 Datum):
1) 1° 15.621’N / 103° 39.223’E
2) 1° 14.926’N / 103° 39.555’E
3) 1° 14.699’N / 103° 39.461’E
4) 1° 15.288’N / 103° 39.223’E

Dredging work will be carried out by grab dredgers. Each grab dredger will
be held by 3 spuds as anchors. The dredgers, with hopper barges in
attendance, will have a circular safety working zone of 50-metre radius
centred at the dredgers. Dredged materials will be transported to the
designated dumping ground by hopper barges.

During operation, the dredgers will be attended to by tug boats which will
be used to shift the dredger.

A safety boat will be deployed in the vicinity of the working area to warn
other craft of the project.

Craft involved in the works will exhibit the appropriate local and
international day and night signals.

When in the vicinity of the working area, mariners are reminded to:
(a) keep well clear and not to enter the working area;
(b) maintain a proper lookout;
(c) proceed at a safe speed and navigate with caution;
(d) maintain a listening watch on VHF Channel 22 (Jurong Control);
and
(e) communicate with Jurong Control on VHF Channel 22 for assistance, if
required.

Sea Parade on 1 July 2014

A flag raising ceremony will be held at 0800 hours on 1 July 2014 at the
Golden Bauhinia Square outside the Hong Kong Convention and Exhibition
Centre (HKCEC) to celebrate the 17th anniversary of the establishment of
the HKSAR.

During the ceremony, a sea parade made up of launches of the disciplinary
services will proceed from Causeway Bay to HKCEC between 0745 hours and
0805 hours, and display water jets off HKCEC at 0800 hours.

Masters, coxswains and persons-in-charge of all vessels navigating in the
vicinity should proceed with caution and give a wide berth to the parade
fleet.
