Jeanius Consulting is celebrating its first year in business by being ‘highly commended’ for its entry in the Breaking the Mould Awards.
The Breaking the Mould Awards, judged by industry business leaders including Sir Roger Carr, Chairman of BAE Systems and past president of the CBI, celebrate forward-thinking companies which have schemes in place to ensure women are well represented in their management and boardrooms. The Awards seek to recognise those assisting the corporate move to better balance boardrooms and those with a creative approach, encouraging a sharing of best industry practice.
Jeanius, launched mid-Sept 2013, comprises of two divisions ; one specialising in maritime, providing a comprehensive service encompassing PR, marketing & social media management, business strategy and creative solutions – looking after the needs of a wide range of maritime clients in the UK, Europe, UAE and the Far East.
The commendation is just the latest in a year which has seen the company also gain national awards for both social media and entrepreneurship. Jeanius won the #SmartSocial award on Twitter for its innovative use of social media for clients and for its part in the #getshippingtrending global Twitter campaign. Passionate about all things social media, Jeanius not only has its own very proactive Twitter accounts but also provides a management service for many shipping industry social media accounts – in the last year being responsible for almost 20, 000 industry tweets & retweets.
At their recent 40th anniversary celebrations, WISTA UK presented Jean Winfield, Managing Director, with the Entrepreneur of 2014 award at the IMO in London for her vision mentoring and commitment to the advancement of women in the shipping industry. With the whole Jeanius team active members of WISTA, they are part of the UK delegation travelling to Cyprus this October for the WISTA International Annual Conference.
Jean Winfield said “It’s been an amazing first year for Jeanius working with maritime clients around the world. The awards have recognised the hard work of the team and management and we are excited about future plans for the coming months. Our passion for the industry and especially social media has enabled us to bring a slightly different yet much needed PR offering to the maritime sector.”
