New Jersey, Sep 24, 2014 – WAM Technologies LLC, provider of wireless M2M solutions for remote management of cold chain, container and other transportation assets, and Xirgo Technologies, Inc., a leader in wireless M2M communications devices, have formalized their existing working relationship with the announcement of an exclusive partnership.

Over the last three years, WAM and Xirgo have worked together to develop innovative technology for global tracking of transport assets. This includes the design and supply of hundreds of thousands of M2M devices for remote monitoring and control of refrigerated shipping containers. The collaboration between the two companies has so far yielded the first transport telematics device integrating GPS, GSM and Zigbee technologies, for a major container shipping line, and a new system designed specifically to track generator sets (gensets) used to power refrigerated containers.

The two companies are also working together to provide a low-cost solution for tracking dry containers, leveraging energy harvesting and Xirgo’s proprietary Adaptive Power Management Algorithm (APMA) for maximizing battery life.

Xirgo will now be the sole developer and provider of M2M hardware used in WAM’s M2Connect suite of cloud-based transport asset management solutions. The M2Connect platform enables real-time location, monitoring and control for refrigerated and dry containers, gensets, chassis, trailers and other transportation assets moving across the global shipping, ports and intermodal networks.

“Xirgo is an experienced M2M hardware developer with millions of units fielded and understanding of the need for ruggedness in intermodal transport applications. The company’s certified device platform and large scale production capabilities uniquely position it to meet the challenging requirements of our domain, ” said Parvez Mansuri, WAM’s CIO.

“As an M2M device supplier customizing products for multiple verticals, we count on partners with deep expertise in their specific industries, ” said Shawn Aleman, CMO and Managing Partner for Xirgo. “WAM is a proven customer and a front runner in its field of cold chain and intermodal transport asset management.”

WAM Technologies will be speaking and exhibiting at two upcoming trade shows in Rotterdam, Netherlands. Cool Logistics Global takes places 30 Sep-2 Oct on the SS Rotterdam. Intermodal Europe takes place 11-13 November at the Ahoy Rotterdam. Company representatives would be pleased to talk with members of the press attending either event.
